Abe B. says, โHowever, despite repeatedly stating that he was licensed, he would not provide his full legal name, company name, or Florida EC license number when requested. Not only that, but he also didn't bother checking if the voltage in the condo was restored, had to come back and charged me for another service call again. Because I may need documentation for a potential HOA reimbursement claim involving electrical feeder damage, I attempted to verify the licensing information independently through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) https://www.myfloridalicense.com/portalsearches/VerifyLicensee/SearchByName license search system. Using the name provided to me, I was unable to locate a matching record. Since no license number or contractor information was provided, I could not independently verify the credentials being claimed. My recommendation to other homeowners is simple: before authorizing electrical work, obtain the contractor's full name, company name, and Florida license number, then verify it yourself through the Florida DBPR license lookup. If a contractor declines to provide the information needed to verify their credentials, consider that before hiring them. UPDATE: I would like to provide an update to my original review. After further discussions, Alexander Valencia and Trusted Home Improvement Electric refunded the invoices in full bringing this matter to a complete resolution. I sincerely appreciate the effort made to address my concerns and the willingness to provide a full refund. While we had differences regarding the project and documentation, I believe the company's decision to resolve the issue demonstrates good faith and a commitment to customer satisfaction. I am grateful that the matter was handled amicably and that a mutually acceptable resolution was reached. My original concern regarding contractor documentation and credential verification remains important to me, particularly because of the potential need for HOA reimbursement and future recordkeeping. My concern was not simply verifying a license for my own curiosity. Because the electrical work may become part of an HOA claim and the HOA has requested proof of licensing, contractor identification and license information are important records for homeowners to maintain. For that reason, I still encourage homeowners to obtain and retain contractor identification and licensing information before work begins. That said, I want to recognize and thank Alexander Valencia and Trusted Home Improvement Electric for ultimately stepping forward and fully resolving the financial dispute. I appreciate the professionalism shown in bringing this matter to a positive conclusion and would not hesitate to hire him again for any appropriate project.โ
