Our Services Reading & Dyslexia Intervention We provide structured, research-based reading intervention for students who struggle with decoding, phonics, fluency, spelling, comprehension, or grade-level reading. With training in Wilson Reading System and Fundations, we identify the underlying skill gaps contributing to reading difficulties and build targeted instruction around the learner’s specific needs. Writing Support From foundational writing skills to essays and academic writing, we help students strengthen grammar, sentence structure, organization, vocabulary, written expression, and the ability to communicate their ideas clearly and confidently. Math Tutoring & Intervention Our math support focuses on identifying exactly where understanding has broken down—not simply helping students finish tonight’s homework. Instruction is individualized to strengthen foundational skills, address conceptual gaps, improve problem-solving, and help students successfully access grade-level and advanced coursework. Standardized Test Preparation We provide targeted preparation for standardized and college-readiness assessments, including SAT and ACT support. Students learn content, test-taking strategies, question patterns, time-management techniques, and how to recognize and avoid common testing traps. Spanish Instruction Spanish lessons are available through a dedicated member of our instructional team. Jocelyn was polite and quickly connected me with a tutor for my kids. We got Lina, she’s a patient and really good with children (6,7) I admire her approach to teaching them.
I like the one-on-one teaching, it has allowed me to be more flexible and learn at my own pace. It also allows for the teacher to figure out the best way for me to learn.
I have taken Spanish classes for about a year with Above Grade. Jocelyn is very organized and clearly explained the expectations of the classes. My instructor, Laura, is very personable and challenges me to learn in class. In the last year my Spanish has greatly improved. The classes have helped me to go from being unable to construct audible conversations to, where I currently am, able to hold basic conversations and use proper verb tenses while speaking Spanish. I have really enjoyed my experience with Above Grade.
After every session she asks me if I have improved from the beginning. She is very responsive and she is extremely nice. Most of all, I have became a better writer because of my tutor. I would like to recommend her for English tutoring.
I've been taking lessons with Laura for about 8-9 months now -- she's an incredible teacher! I look forward to my lesson each week and my conversational Spanish is noticeably improving. She's also very laidback and caters the class to my needs. Very professional and Jocelyn is super quick to respond for any scheduling matters. I appreciate that they offer discounted packages too so you don't have to pay per class.
