They did everything they said they were going to do. They came when they said and worked long enough to finish in one day! We got several bids and they were the one we felt most comfortable with. It was a good choice!

There are so many things wrong with my experience with Arkeon. I fired them after 3 days. We had a small water incursion on 12-9-25 and I was concerned that it would be worse during the upcoming weather event. I share some blame for pointing them at some existing damage that may have possibly been the source of the leak. It turned out not to be and they didn't look beyond that. They apparently are focused on the water mitigation and repair more so than finding the cause of the problem and fixing it. The more senior person that they sent to work on our house was incompetent. The earliest they were able to arrive at our house to work was 11:00am with the other arrivals around 3 or 4pm. the senior worker cannot drive and his partner had to travel from Salem to Sheridan to pick him up and transport him to our residence. Their personal vehicle broke down the second day and they could not afford a tow truck. It was cold so I had to bring them in, feed them, and wait for 4 hours before their boss came buy with a tow truck to take them away. The third day the storm really hit and our basement was inundated with water. I called and asked for emergency help to find and stop the water and it took them 3 hours to arrive with their industrial water remover (a 14 gallon shop vac). They had no other tools, I had to provide everything else. The senior worker also wanted to spend more time explaining things to me rather than working. The junior worker was their to do most of the "heavy lifting" and did so. He was OK but didn't appear to have a lot of experience. I believe that I did at least as much or more of the work than they did. After arriving their focus was on removing the water and not addressing the source. I had to dig a trench around the exterior of the house to divert the water while they were bailing. While doing so it became apparent to me where the water was coming from and I had to bring them out and show them, and provide sandbags to stem the flow. At 11:00pm they left, as it was obvious we were going to fail to minimize damage. I fired them the next day. Several other issues were what I considered to be negatives. I had difficulty getting to speak with the owner of the company. His phone went to voicemail and the response came back to me through the senior worker. I was promised several times that they had the resources through their associated contractor to bring in plumbers and other skilled workers to address issues but nobody ever responded by having them sent in. Their fee structure is something I have never seen before. They came out and gave me an estimate of the job, but charged me by the hour at $125.00 per man hour. I felt forced to hire them with the upcoming storm or I would have gotten a second bid. I was shocked to find out that they would normally have charged me travel time at the $125.00 for each person rate but decided not to include that. By their own admission, it took them 3 hours each way to travel from Salem to Sheridan (to pick up the non driver) and then to travel to our home. My experience with this company is the single worst experience that I have ever had with a construction company and their workers in my 73 years on this planet. They are probably OK for simple jobs or performing the drying and cleanup after a water event whose source has been identified and repaired but $250.00 an hour for 1 incompetent senior worker and his inexperienced helper is insane. I contrast my experience with these guys is the exact opposite to the company I hired to replace them.

I called Arkeon for some help with a potential problem and rather than charge me a bunch of money to come check out a problem that might not exist, he encouraged me to get a moisture meter (and sent me the exact product to get) and test the problem area before having him come out to take a look. I appreciated it so much because most contractors would prefer to come out and charge you just for the visit and then either “find” a reason to start demolishing stuff or provide some sort of unneeded service. Arkeon had the right attitude and decency and so I will be testing the area and if I do need help they’ll be the ones I call first.

I am late with my rating but that means nothing against Joe. He is so kind and easy to speak with and will help you understand while not making you feel dumb. Joe was able to get me on the schedule ASAP! It’s really awesome you can have the owner of the company come out and do the work. If I have mold issues again without a doubt I will be calling Joe.
