Ben designed the plan that we had in mind. It was an unique situation ...a sloping floor in a storage area below an addition that was done years ago. The soil was excavated until we had a flat floor. Then they did landscape block work. Carlos and his crew were great. Carlos checked in with us each day to ask us if we had any concerns. The job was done in a timely manner!

Ben Erickson, Owner, has been practicing Landscape Architecture in the Twin Cities for over 16 years, first learning the ropes at the office of CLOSE Landscape Architecture until opening b.e landscape designs in 2012. Ben was very disrespectful when we didn’t like the price he gave us. He left me off an email message where he insulted my wife. Not very professional. He was unwilling to come out to our house and discuss options with us. Would not recommend.
Ben and his crew did an amazing job on our landscape project. He had great ideas and helped design an attractive solution to our steep terraced slope. There were some challenges working in a small area transporting big boulders, but everything was handled safely and with creative professionalism. I would recommend him without qualification!

B.E. Landscape Designs did a wonderful job! I started a project at home that I could not finish on my own. I was having a shed built on my property and thought I could handle removing the mulch and tree stump parts then leveling my yard myself. Big mistake. I was very worried because the shed was being delivered and built in just a couple weeks. I reached out to Ben at B.E. and he was able to get me on his schedule in time before the shed came. Carlos and his crew did an amazing job of clearing out the area and putting down gravel and leveling it for me. It was incredible. Pictures included. I was so impressed I made a list of projects that I am going to hire them for next spring! Thank you Ben and Carlos, and Crew!
I can't say enough good things about what Ben & Carlos did for us. First Ben worked with us to come up with design and then was willing modify it as the project went along. Carlos and his crew the guy's who do the heavy lifting were fantastic.
Ben and Carlos were great. We had a project to finish on a tight timeline and needed a quality finish. They installed the rock and landscaping on time, on budget and it looks fantastic. They took it to the next level cleaning up after my garbage man who spilled grass all over our street and replaced a sprinkler head that was faulty. Very professional team, with great work ethics and quality skills.
Came out for a quote and said we would have an estimate within 3 days. Fast forward two weeks later, still no estimate.
We hired Ben Erickson and his crew to repair a landscaping project that the prior owners of our house had completed several years ago. It was a small but complex project and we were delighted with the professionalism and quality of work that Ben brought to the project. Our patio area had settled near the new addition on our house, and consequently rainwater flowed toward the house across the stone patio. Obviously this is not good. The complexity was that besides the incorrect slope of the patio due to settlement, we otherwise enjoyed the aesthetics of the patio and the wooden porch. Ben's team was able to re-grade the patio and re-grade the catch basin system to re-direct runoff away from the house, without making any unnecessary and costly changes to the stone patio or wooden porch. As with any house project, oftentimes unexpected challenges present themselves during the course of the project, and Ben and his crew were excellent at problem solving during the project in order to accomplish the goal. We recommend Ben for other landscaping projects and we plan to use his company for future projects ourselves.
After three years of know one showing up for the job, Ben was right on time and very professional when we met. He understood and was very accomodating for the project we needed. Any questions that came up that we wanted to change, he was very easy to work with. The job went very smooth and they were great workers!! We are so happy we got the job done finally, and are very pleased with the final job!! Would highly recommend them for any outdoor project!!

There were significant issues with the sod. They agreed there were big sections that were poorly laid but did not offer to fix. I even offered them one more chance before I wrote a review and they didn't care. If you use them I definitely recommend withholding payment until they are complete and you are completely satisfied.
Brief communication, either my project was to small or to big. I get the sense they wanted to bid the job over the phone rather than make a site visit. Sent pictures of site and ideas for my projects and received no response.
Our garden needed a boost. We live in a townhouse community and didn't need a huge plan. Ben created a plan that was appropriate for the space and our budget. Ben also provided drawings as part of his service, while I was told by other Landscape designers that it would cost extra. Seeing the plan was important to me since it is hard to visualize what the plants will eventually look like. Ben's team was exemplary from prompt arrival to thorough clean up after the project was completed. We highly recommend Ben and his team for any landscape project you may be thinking about.
