Just had Jamal and Luis help me move some stuff from 1 BR apt in Sandy Springs to Smyrna. We were scheduled for 9am but unfortunately weather didn’t cooperate and they got to me just before 11 but they were coming from south Atlanta through town with severe storms. Jamal was sure to keep me updated through the morning as early as 7:30am and I was very appreciative of that and understanding as Atlanta traffic is expected during this time and unpredictable with weather. They moved a 6 piece modular sectional, desk, gaming chair, 65” tv, tv console, queen mattress/box spring/frame. Did it in just under 2 hours including the 15-20 min transit time. Not sure what these bad reviews are about but sounds like poor understanding or common sense on the customers end. Jamal was straight forward on pricing and stuck to it, communicative of delays, hard working and does hard and honest work. Thank you Jamal and Luis for the help today and will reach out if I ever need help moving again!

Update: Qualin is NOT being honest! I NEVER asked for the cost of the move back as you can see in the screenshots of our text messages. I asked for $80 for a fairly new lamp that cost $110. It wasn’t just the bulb that was broken. The entire lamp is damaged and unusable. Please note that I paid $225 for a job that took less than an hour. It was simply moving items off an already packed moving truck to a first floor storage. I wish I had read more reviews. Qualin posts a statement on every negative review stating that the customer is lying. There is no way ALL these people are lying. He also never addressed how my items were just carelessly thrown into the storage. He is the one lying and that is disappointing. I am disappointed to have to write a bad review after having just written a great review for another job this company did for me. However, I feel the consumer needs to know this company isn’t consistent. It seems to depend on who Jamal has working with him or maybe the time of day; the first job I was his first of the day, the second I was his last. They were 1 hour and 24 minutes late. I was understanding because people can’t control traffic. However they broke a lamp and never told me. The only way I found out is I found the glass near where the moving truck was parked. I then went into the storage unit to see what had been broken and not only was the bulb broken but the entire lamp was broken and it was just thrown in the back on top of some stuff, it seemed to hide it. The first move they broke an irreplaceable dish but I didn’t mention it because his partner that day was honest, told me right away, and apologized. This time, if I had not found the glass that they didn’t even bother to clean up, I wouldn’t have known. This job was just to unload some items off a truck and into storage and it cost only $75 less than what I paid for a full move. I didn’t mind paying it because I felt they would do a good job like they did the first time. However, they just threw items in the storage with no care for organization and proper placement (as you can see in the pictures). I guess with this company it depends on the day and who is working that day and what time of the day your job is scheduled for.

Bigger truck needed. Not a 16 foot truck. I had to rent a uhual. Don’t rip box springs. Be on time regardless of traffic, leave ahead of time. Have help who really wants to be there. The helper sat down on office chair and waited for Jamal rather than keep moving stuff with the hand truck. Disappointed with my experience.

I was happy with the ease of scheduling my move with Bear's Moving Co. and knowing that there were would be no hidden fees. The owner, who also was one of two movers, was very kind and accommodating despite some hiccups we had the day of the move (eg snowing outside, ran out of tape, my car key died). I contacted the owner the day of the move to confirm our arrangement. Unbeknownst to him, there was horrible weather the morning of so they were about 10-15 minutes late. Once at my place, things moved pretty smoothly. My biggest disappointment with the move was how long it took. I can’t blame the inefficiency on the movers alone since I didn’t have all my boxes taped up and actually ran out of tape. Likewise, my car remote battery died so I had to give the access code and key to the mover to begin unloading my stuff without me initially present. I’m sure it slowed them down having to rekey the entry code every time they entered the elevators of the storage facility. Likewise, one of the movers had a language barrier and possibly a health issue that made it difficult for him to work nonstop. Had they not forgotten about my mattress, the storage unit would've been packed really well but they ended up having to throw the mattress one top of everything making it difficult to squeeze in more stuff later on. Overall, I was very happy that the owner made the experience easy and stress free. Likewise, he was prepared with extra moving material, which I used, and understanding about my key remote dying and was able to improvise. Given that this is a new business, there were understandable issues the day of the move. Over time, I'm confident that the owner will create a great company since he's very professional, a perfectionist and really responsive. He merely needs to increase the number of his employees and have the ability to afford ones with more experience.

Jamal was a nightmare of a person to deal with during my move on 12/10/21. He took 20+ minutes in between every trip to his truck and at the end of the loading portion of my moving appointment he spent 30 minutes in his truck, wasting time. I believe he was dragging his feet to increase my bill. At a certain point I had to start moving furniture myself and placing it outside their truck because the two movers were moving extremely slow while loading my belongings. It took them over 4 hours to move a 1 bd apt 21 miles away. Over one hour more than what I was quoted. When I asked Jamal to subtract all the time he spent wasting in his truck, a total of over 50 minutes ( I counted), he became violent, raised his voice and started making threatening hand gestures, almost knocking over my father’s laptop. I paid him the unfair requested amount only because of his unprofessional, violent behavior. I told him that I would be sure explain what happened in a review. He told me he would sue for defamation. Not sure on what grounds. After paying him via cash app I had to ask him to leave my home because he continued to hang around. I was very close to calling the police and filing a report. If it wasn’t for my ability to remain calm and speak in a professional tone throughout the interaction, I do believe it would have escalated by way of Jamal behaving increasingly violent. I just wanted him out of my home at that point. Please don’t trust this man in your home. I’ve hired movers from thumbtack twice before and never felt so clearly taken advantage of and threatened. I never had to ask movers to subtract time wasted, doing nothing until my experience with Bear’s moving company. I will be contacting thumbtack to report this company for their scam tactics and the violent, unprofessional behavior of their employee. I will also add that Jamal stated that the reason for the extensive loading time was due to the long trip from my apartment door to the truck. This cannot be so, as it took me less than 4 minutes to travel from my apartment door, down the elevator and out the door to the truck with furniture in hand. I know this because I made at least 5 trips moving my own furniture to their moving truck. Update*** I’m posting this update in response to Bear’s Moving company claiming that I never followed up with them to schedule an appointment. That claim is false. Please see attached photos of my communications with the company including the booking confirmation email, the text communication on 12/10/21, the cash app receipts and a screen shot from my security camera outside of my home showing Jamal moving my belongings. It is very unfortunate that they would lie and attempt to silence my review, but this behavior is only a continuation of what I experienced on the day of my move. I’m not even requesting a refund. I only want potential clients to be aware of this company’s tactics before inviting these people into your homes. Again, please refer to receipts.

These guys are ah-mazing!!! If you’re thinking about using them or even if you’re not I’d be stupid not to! They are super reasonable, super friendly, very good at packing and moving. I was so impressed I can’t stop thinking about how much better they made my move!! I could not have done it without them!!!! So grateful!

I used Jamal and TK from Bear’s moving company for a small scale one bedroom & kitchen/living room move from Buckhead to Inman Park today. Jamal was very communicative, well prepared and punctual. They arrived on time with all necessary equipment and were very efficient. They were also very friendly and flexible (were able to extend from a 3hr scheduled move to a 4hr move). All of my items (particularly my plants) arrived in great condition. Bear’s is a super great value as well and I’d recommend them to anyone. Pictures from new place vs. old place.
