Unsafe Practices & Damaged Property – Do Not Hire! I paid this handyman $310 to clean my backyard grill, and it was a complete disaster. Instead of cleaning it properly, he sprayed the entire interior firebox and the cooking grates with a high-heat exterior spray paint to make it look "clean." Painting the interior and food-contact surfaces of a grill is a major safety hazard. No major paint manufacturer permits high-heat paint to be used on the inside of a grill because it is not food-safe, cannot handle direct flame, and releases toxic chemical fumes into your food. To make matters worse, the actual cleaning job was incomplete. He completely forgot to clean one of the trays, and he did a terrible job cleaning up after himself, leaving black residue and mess all over my patio. When I brought the paint safety issue to his attention, he insisted he did it correctly and refused to offer a refund or cover the cost of replacing the ruined parts. The grill is currently completely unsafe to cook on until I mechanically strip the chemical paint down to bare metal myself. Paying $310 to have your property damaged, a mess left behind, and the actual cleaning left unfinished is unacceptable. He lacks basic knowledge of appliance safety and refuses to take accountability. Avoid this service at all costs.
