Needed a plumber to install a cold and hot water lines for my bar and Bluestone responded quickly
Refused to give a least and most cost estimate for a simple removal and replacement of a toilet. They want to charge based on perceived ability to overpay. A simple toilet replacement should take less than 30 minute, and they refuse to tell me what 30 minutes of a plumbers time is worth. They are simply going to charge as much as they think you might pay. If you argue, they are likely to drop their price, which makes them con artists. A simple statement of an hourly rate is beyond them.
The tech arrived within the time frame provided by Bluestone. He was very professional and answered any questions I had. He also left the area clean.
Communication was perfect - not too much, some other companies I had contacted kept sending correspondence even after I told them I was out of town and would be in contact with them the following week. Bluestone respected my request, offered a free estimate, was flexible with my schedule and was able to do the work immediately while at my condo once I received their estimate. I will definitely use Bluestone again should I need further plumbing repairs in the future. A big thumb's up!!! I'd give more than 5 stars if given the option!!!
The Pro- James B. was here to fix and replace my water shut off valves. In doing so, he found the sources to a whole other issue I was having with my dishwasher. He resolved the issue and the dishwasher is working like new. He was very considerate, knowledgeable and helpful in every way. I'll definitely call Bluestone back and hopefully I could request him. I was dealing with three issues. A Delta bathroom faucet with an odd cartridge configuration that interfered with how the handle would shut on/off. Had a problem with the flanger stopper and leak underneath in the p-trap. Lastly in our second bathroom the toilet had a worn out flapper and fill valve needed replacement water was trickling inside the bowl. Didn't realize my water bill was higher this month. I found Bluestone within minutes scheduled a free consultation. Plumber James was at our home by 6:30pm that same day. He was done with all tasks by evening. Very professional and easygoing. Job was done correctly. I called water services and continuous water leak has stopped what a relief. Definitely recommend James and Bluestone. Payment was easy. Very happy with the work.
Can't say enough about the above-and-beyond customer service level of Bluestone! I had a clogged toilet that plunging wasn't fixing. Had another company come out and quote me wayyyyy to much for a possible minor fix in a snake job, etc. Not only did Bluestone give me options for cost with the level of fixes (which the other company didn't), but their tech, James, came out 9 pm at night after he finished a job to see if he could take care of me before the next day. Long drive, as I live in Princeton, and I know it was a long haul. He was able to snake and plunge my toilet to fix it, and I was able to sleep in peace. Learned Bluestone pretty much can help with any household service, so I will be getting back with them regarding my sprinkler system needs (not watering evenly). James already provided me a quote; I just have to find time to look it over and organize things. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company. I believe it was Brittany who answered the phone initially, and then she put the owner or one of the owners on when I was concerned about an expensive fix. They assured me from the get-go it likely could be fixed on the low end. :)
I'm going to be honest, I had a lot of weird work for them, that my breathing issues don't let me do. They came out when they said, did everything I needed, even when the requests were unusual, and when they left it was all exactly the way I needed. Couldn't ask for more.
I’ve used Thumbtack for years and have consistently had good experiences with the professionals I’ve hired through the platform. Unfortunately, this was my first negative experience. The $199 service-call charge was on the high end but not, by itself, my concern. The issue was that after I had provided photos, described the very limited scope, and supplied the materials, I was quoted $650 to cut down one accessible air-gap pipe. Based on our experience with plumbers and comparable work, we expected this entire job to be approximately $200–$250. When I declined the $650 quote, Bluestone sent me an invoice for the $199 service-call charge. I did not believe that amount was reasonable under the circumstances and did not pay it. I offered $50 to cover the trip, which I thought was fair given that they had already received photos and a description of the work before dispatching anyone. I want to distinguish between Bluestone and the plumbers who actually came to the property. The plumbers themselves were professional, courteous, and stand-up guys. I had no issue with them. My concern is with Bluestone’s pricing and fee structure. Buyer beware: make sure you understand the service-call fee and how pricing will be determined before scheduling. In my experience, the quote was dramatically higher than what this very limited scope of work warranted.

James did an excellent job removing our old toilet and installing this new Kohler toilet. He kept the gold handle from the old toilet as we requested. It had sentimental value with a story behind it.
These guy are awesome! They were on-time and professional. They came in and assess the problem and gave me a quote. They went above and beyond their scope of work making sure everything worked and their were no leaks from my kitchen sink that had been installed incorrectly. They even replaced the rotted wood that was damaged along with making the dishwasher work (never worked) and the garbage disposal.
