I had a great experience working with Andrew and the team at Build It Up Co. on the full renovation of my apartment. This was a pretty substantial renovation with a lot of custom details, and I’m genuinely very happy with how everything came together. It’s an older New York apartment, so naturally there were surprises along the way. Andrew was always responsive and willing to work through things with me as they came up. I also had a very specific vision for the apartment, and there were a lot of details I cared about—from the floors and millwork to the kitchen, bathroom, doors, trim, and all of the finishing touches. Andrew understood that and worked with me to get those details right. I’m also admittedly very particular when it comes to design, so I really appreciated how patient Andrew was when I wanted to change something, refine a detail, or approach something differently. There was never an attitude of “this is good enough.” If something needed another look, we talked about it and figured it out. Another thing I really appreciated was that Build It Up Co. didn’t disappear once the main construction was finished. Andrew and his team continued coming back to take care of smaller punch-list items and make sure everything was properly wrapped up. The before-and-after of this apartment is honestly incredible. People who saw it before the renovation are shocked when they walk in now because it feels like a completely different home. No renovation of this size is going to be completely stress-free, especially in an older NYC building, but looking at the finished apartment, I’m extremely happy that I chose Andrew and Build It Up Co. I would absolutely work with them again and recommend them to anyone taking on a major renovation.

Reviews
Andrew delivered a detailed proposal with clear options and pricing and explained everything clearly. His team is great — On budget, on time, comprehensive work, and ahead of schedule. Super nice people too!
Complete transformation Need I say more
Andrew was a true professional and took the time to discuss several iterations of plans and adjustments with me. His responsiveness, communication, and expertise was tremendous and made me feel very comfortable throughout the process. Andrew was straightforward and transparent about timelines and costs and even helped to recommend things to improve the space. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, I could not proceed with the project at the current time. However, I was so impressed by Andrew that I needed to jump on here and recommend him to anyone looking for a true partner in home improvement projects.
If I could pick all of the fantastic qualities I would! Andrew called me right away, discussed my project, provided clear & transparent information & put my mind at ease during an HVACrepair. Everything was straightforward and timely! I’ll definitely continue to work with him & his team going forward. Thank you 🙏
My experience with Andrew Pena from Build-it-up LLC is 5 star for many reasons. The one area that stands out with Andrew and Build it up is his communication. Andrew will describe everything he will or can do in detail. He discusses all details of the job, the time frame and he will call you to let you know when he is on his way. He is always punctual so if he says he'll be there at 9 you'll receive a call before 9 am, letting you know he's on the job. Unlike other contractors, When Build-It-Up begins the job they stay on the job continuously until it is finished within the estimated time frame whereas other contractors can leave your job unfinished if they found another job that they place as a priority - leaving you waiting for days or longer to get the job done. Build-it-up did a pretty difficult ceiling job for me and in the end it was perfect. Also they clean up after themselves. Andrew is all about making his customers happy and he'll do whatever it takes to make that happen. Also I think he is reasonably priced. I enjoyed working with Andrew and I'm looking forward to giving him more work in the future. You will be in good hands to hire Build-It-Up LLC. And he has all the insurance that Co-ops and Condos require. That's huge.
Build It Up helped us do a large renovation in under 4 months. We refinished hardwood floors, replaced tile floors, replaced and re-leveled tile floors with hardwood, had a large custom built in made, opened up walls and introduced transoms, gutted our kitchen, gutted the bathroom, etc. We are so happy with the results of the project and are grateful for their ability to work with our designer to help bring our vision to life. We highly recommend working with Andrew and his team.
I had a tight deadline and Andrew was able to deliver on time. He was also able to work with the weird things that happened with my 100+ year old home. I would use them again.
Andrew and his team helped us replace our bathroom ceiling, window, vanity and linen cabinet. Andrew was always quick to respond to any questions that we had and put all of our worries to ease. He was always communicative about the job status as well. On top of the meticulous construction work he and his team did, he also helped us source replacement parts for our aging ones and found furniture that fit perfectly in the existing space so that everything looked cohesive. I'm so glad I found Build It Up LLC and would not hesitate to hire them again!
Couldn’t be happier with the work Andrew and his team did on our new house! Total pros, they did excellent work reinforcing some of the structural elements to our place. Andrew was very responsive, clear, and up front about everything. We felt we were in good hands as he offered his assessment of the job that needed to be done. We’ll definitely be hiring Build It Up LLC for future projects.
