I took a whole day off work for this cleaning after the owner assured me beforehand that everything we agreed on would be completed. His team left early with work unfinished and trash still inside. My instructions about securing my home and keeping my cats safe weren’t followed. When we spoke afterward, he repeatedly acknowledged that his team had done a poor job and said he couldn’t believe what had happened. He understood the problems, then offered 50% off as though that made up for the wasted day and safety concerns. He later said he wouldn’t charge me, called my concerns “drama,” and told me to “enjoy your free cleaning.” I wasn’t looking for free cleaning. I wanted the job I took a day off for done properly. Some things were cleaned well, but that doesn’t excuse the unfinished work or what happened with my home and cats. I then received a message saying the project was cancelled on Thumbtack and the number was no longer in service, even though the cleaning visit had already happened. I have photos, video, and messages to provide. Please review what happened, including why the project was marked cancelled, and let me know what you can do. I’ve already asked him not to send anyone back or contact me further.
