My company contacted Ben on 8/31/2026 to address a tenant's balcony door's lock assembly. He claimed that the assembly was missing the spindle. I found this to be odd since I personally installed the assembly a couple of years prior and locks don't just "fall apart", however I chose to err towards his judgement since he's a professional locksmith. He was supposed to arrive at the unit at 10:00 AM on 8/31/2026. I explained to him that the tenant works nights and does need to maintain her schedule. He showed up 1.5 hours late at approx. 11:30 AM. When he got to the unit and looked at the lock he quoted me something absurd like $425. I told him to forget it. He then said that he would "talk to his boss." The verdict was since he was late he'd perform the repair for $270. I instructed him to proceed. Before he started he spent more time worried about getting paid than on the actual repair. "I send you my Venmo now." As soon as he completed the shoddy repair he called me to get paid, "Can you send the Venmo now? My boss needs the payment." I asked for a video of the repair. He sent it so I sent him the payment. Then he began to hound me for a review. I explained to him that I would review when time permits and only after the repair was proved out for a couple of weeks. On 9/11/2026, I received multiple texts from the tenant explaining that the handle simply fell off. See the attached pic. When I spoke to the tenant I inquired about how that was even possible when BZ Lock & Key just repaired it 11 days ago. She explained that Ben simply set the lock in place but was missing one of the screws to robustly affix the handle to the door. She thought that I was aware. I was stunned when she told me this since I paid him $270. Diligently, the tenant went to Home Depot to match the screws and purchased them. I called Ben he sent me straight to VM. I left him a message stating that I would hold off on the review until he gets back over to the unit to follow-up on the repair. After mentioning "review" he called back. On the phone he consistently dodged my direct question. I asked multiple times if he left the handle missing screws and he would not give me an answer. Finally, he agreed to head back out on Monday (9/14/2026) to revisit the repair. See the text exchange. After we got off the phone I followed up for his confirmation on Monday's time. No response. I followed up again on Sunday (9/13/2026). He then replies saying that it was his holiday weekend so he's not going to come on Monday as agreed upon. He offered zero alternative. I reiterated the conversation that we had on Friday. Again, no response. On Tuesday (9/15/2026), I gave him a final opportunity to make it right before I reviewed him. I noticed a pattern, mention a review he responds quickly but never actionably follows through. He then says that he'll complete the job tomorrow, Wednesday (9/16/2026). I ask him to confirm a time. Never heard back from him that day. On Wednesday (9/16/2026) he texts at 6:44 AM stating that he'll call at 10AM to let me know when he could revisit the repair with the tenant. This really pissed me off since a good portion of the work day would be gone and I specifically stated to him on multiple occasions that the tenant works nights and all visits must be before 10AM, hence he was 1.5 hours late on his initial visit. We talked around 11:30 AM, he explained to me that he was working a big job and wouldn't be able to get to the tenant until 1 PM that day. He also stated that he lived in LA and would have to do the repair today because he didn't want to make the trip back to Long Beach. I contacted the tenant to see if she could make an exception and she agreed. I texted Ben at 11:33 AM to instruct him to head over after he completed his big job. I advised him that the tenant was waiting on him. He was a no show. No call. No text. So here's his review. Please see the attached. The pics show his shoddy repair.
I had to install a 2nd lock in a thick wooden door, Ben came over and did it very quickly and for a fair price. I am very happy with the work, it opens smoothly and the way it should. I would recommend them any time

I am happy that I had someone installed the but the locksmith, Ben, was very chaotic, and a bit hostile. BZ lock quoted me the original lock was $99 and installation would be $99-$120. When he arrived he told me it would cost me $300 to install due to older lock and $120 for the lock. They also asked me for deposit. I was upset at the price change and knew it was wrong, but he kept trying to hustle my feelings by telling me it was a good price and not to be upset. He didn’t quite understand I wanted a keypad on the inside of house to keep my parents safe, which could’ve saved time. Once he explained that they don’t make double bolt keypad locks, He had already drilled a large hole in door and kept drilling until it was far too big. He damaged the door and the new lock he placed barely fit. He had no empathy and tried to defend himself for an imperfect lock. He was unapologetic. This is a man that does imperfect work, works chaotically and assumes that because he has completed a job, it’s better than nothing at all. Not sure he’s certified. He also seems to be charging his own prices upon arrival because he works as a contractor with company and wants to make more money. I don’t believe he is a licensed locksmith. Once he saw the bad job he completed, he told me it would cost $275 total. His way of giving me a discount for chaotic job. It should’ve been less than that. He basically charged me for damaging my door. It was very chaotic and stressful. The company contacted me afterwards about how much of a good price I was receiving and once I sent picture to them with the damages, they never responded. Consider working with another company.
Wow! What an amazing service. I loved this company, I will definitely be using them again. The technician arrived super fast. Fixed my keypad quickly, and charged a great price. Highly recommended! Thank you for making a stressful situation so much easier. Also great customer service very nice and professional.
I had an amazing experience with this service! Bar was incredibly helpful and responsive—he met me at my property within just 20 minutes of my call.
