⭐ 1 star I had a very disappointing experience with Cano Landscaping, mainly because of the lack of transparency regarding material costs. I was a regular customer and asked them to purchase six plants for my landscaping. When I simply asked for a copy of the nursery receipt showing what the plants actually cost, I was surprised by the response. Instead of providing the receipt, I was told that if I didn’t trust them, they could return my money and I could buy the plants myself or find someone else to do the work. I completely understand that a landscaper needs to charge for their time, gas, pickup, delivery, labor, and even a reasonable markup. I have no problem paying for those services. My issue is that those charges should be communicated clearly. If there is a service or delivery charge, tell the customer what it is rather than presenting one amount as the cost of the plants and then refusing to provide the purchase receipt. After I continued asking for transparency, they returned the $500 I had paid and told me to find someone else. For me, asking for a receipt for materials I’m paying for is a perfectly reasonable customer request. The situation could have been handled very simply: provide the actual material cost and separately explain any labor, pickup, delivery, or service charges. Unfortunately, the way my question was handled made me uncomfortable continuing to do business with Cano Landscaping. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend them.
