**October 2025 Update** Richard and I have worked out the differences and have confirmed a mutually agreeable settlement to close this issue. Wishing him the best of luck on future projects with his updated approach. **Original Review** Richard and his crew were selected to work on our roof deck, specifically to execute some waterproofing updates to the membrane. While I agree with many of the other reviewers that Richard was nice, the work quality was not only poor, it was dangerous. One example... his crew used 2" screes to secure the deck board to the sleeper when the sleeper was only 0.5" high and thus poked right through the membrane he helped to refresh - and did this multiple times. Another example was when he pulled back some of the siding and instead of the obvious method of adding siding paper "under" the existing paper so that the water flows down, he did it on top and thus trapped any water coming down the wall into the seams. We had to hire another contractor to come out and fix the mess and he said it was one of the least professional jobs he was ever seen. Unfortunately it gets worse. As nice as Richard may be, he does not follow through and shouldn't be trusted. After I approached him with the issues he assured me he would make me whole. I suggested he cover the costs of the fixes but after a few emails and calls back and forth to close on the plan, he went radio silent and never replied. My attorneys have filed documents with the stater contractor's office so that they are away of his poor work. Do yourself a favor - choose someone else.

Owner Richard A. And his crew with Deck Doctors are very professional and did an amazing quality job with my siding project. They replaced all the siding panels that had dry rot down to matching up the paint to the little details of finding the right siding and metal strips for a house that was built in 1989. Richard provided a great professional service. The deck is simply awesome: Richard and his team have shown constantly a great attention to details and high quality, without any compromise. Unfortunately we have had some issues on timing and deadline management, but they did their best to fix that, working even during night with lights on their head to have the job finished.

He showed up to give estimate, was on the job with his team, called to say he was going to be late every day. When I called and told him a deck light had been broken during their work process he was genuinely courteous about replacing and fixing the broken fixture. He could have shown up on time. That is very important, we could not use our deck as scheduled for a 4th of July party due to stain drying 12 hours. Richard, has never called me back to replace the broken light fixture on the deck.
Richard is great, he repaired my pergola. Work is neat, clean, and on time!
