This was the best experience. Alex was right on responsiveness with the estimate and completing the work. He took pride in making this a very professional task and I can't be more proud of how the deck looks now. I will definitely recommend for any future tasks.

I want to thank you, I'm really very happy with how the deck turned out, I think the stain dried beautifully, I know it's not perfect and there's some solid stain coming through (not your fault at all) i think it gives it interest. I'm very pleased
Great experience. Excellent quality work from a high quality individual
Alex went above and beyond what I had expected. He took grate care to do the job right.
We recently had Alex rebuild a large deck and we couldn't be happier with the results! He clearly takes pride in his work, and the results reflect that. Professional, courteous, he asked questions and listened. The job also came in UNDER budget and Alex provided a complete accounting of all of the costs. I can't recommend him highly enough. Thanks, Alex, for an outstanding job. We continue to get complements on the beautiful deck.
We had a wonderful experience with Deck4life. Alex was great to work with planning our deck replacement. His pricing was fair for the market and he was upfront on everything , his timetable, architecture plans and dealing with inspections. He took care to not disturb our garden area around the deck and the craftsmanship of the deck is fantastic. We would recommend Deck4life to anyone looking to replace or build a new deck. B. Porter
Deck 4 Life fixed several rotted spots on my deck with new boards. Great job at a reasonable price. I highly recommend.
I couldn’t be happier with the work Alex did on our deck. From the initial planning to the final touches, he was professional, skilled, and easy to work with. He communicated clearly, stayed on schedule, and delivered outstanding craftsmanship. The deck looks beautiful—solid, well-built, and exactly what we were hoping for. You can tell Alex takes pride in his work, and it really shows in the final result. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a quality contractor.
Having done many remodeling projects over time, this was by far the best experience we have had. The quote we were provided was so thorough and detailed. I have had many contractors put a quote together and always come up about 20-30% off when comes time to pay. this was spot on. Yes was there a couple of add ons but they were by us. The word was meticulous and beautiful. Our neighbors also have commented on how beautiful the deck looks. It is a work of art. Highly highly recommend him to anybody!!!!!
Great quality of work, very responsive, and the work went quickly. Almost a year later and we are still loving our new deck. Highly recommend.
Great workmanship
Alex did a great job and even did a little extra work and did not charge us. His work is exceptional and he is a pleasure to work with. If you have deck work, I highly recommend him.
Oleks (Alex) did a terrific job on our deck! We needed to replace our decaying two-story deck stairs and got 3 quotes/assessments. We chose Alex because it was clear from the start that he was honest, fair on price, and would provide quality work - and all of this was true as he completed the job! He definitely knows his stuff, as he took the time to share the construction errors that led to the decaying and how he would prevent those in his approach (small openings between steps, pouring concrete where the steps would otherwise meet the soil ground, etc). We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. Of note, in our pics you will see old wood on the deck platform - that’s because those boards were still good and we chose to keep them to keep the cost lower. All the boards will match when we stain it (which we wanted to do ourselves) - and Alex was so helpful in giving us tips on how to do our first deck staining job!
Alex is by far the best person you can possibly hire to build your deck. We knew what we wanted size wise, and I've build several decks myself, but a shoulder injury kept me from doing the heavy lifting. Alex came out and showed us what he would do, and how he would build it. We told Alex that we wanted to do the decking, but needed his help with the structure. No problem. He was knowledgeable, and gave us a few options, but recommended one approach in particular. We hired him and got on his wait list, without any downpayment. When he started the project, he told us exactly what he planned to do, picked out the lumber for the structure himself, and set up the delivery. What he created is absolutely amazing, he is a true master carpenter. He build it so we could do a "picture frame" design with the decking, and gave me suggestions for how to deck it successfully, even suggested a few tools I could use to make it easy. We could not be happier with Alex's work. We are telling everyone we know that if you need a deck built, you'd be crazy not to contact Alex. Trust me, I've had a lot of crappy experiences with people who we hired to do work in and around our house. Bottom line, if you want someone who does what they say they will do, completes the project on time and does so at an extremely fair price, you hang on to them. Alex, I will think of you fondly every time my bride and I hang out alone on the deck, host parties, or just sit quietly in the morning with a cup of coffee. Thank you for creating our dream deck.
Incredible new deck stairs and an awesome experience. Pricing was very transparent between labor and parts. Work was completed exactly on time. Inspections came back clean. Final product looks amazing. Took the time to go through a few different designs. Would recommend to anyone!
Alex is a joy to work with! He completed our project in the exact time frame agreed to. His work is beautiful and done for a very fair cost. My husband and I give Alex the highest possible recommendation! We feel so fortunate we found him on Thumbtack!
I cannot make a real evaluation since the project will not be started until March
Alex did a fabulous job on our deck by replacing the boards with trex boards. We absolutely love the results and value of his impeccable work at a reasonable cost. See the before and after.
Alex was 10/10 from consult to completion. Kind, professional, and gave us a great value. I am obsessed with what he was able to build us! I went through around 7 consults with other companies and I’m so glad I went with Alex. Would absolutely recommend.
We are SO HAPPY with our deck. Alex did an amazing job and is so skilled. We weren't sure what needed to be done with our deck as we had an existing one that we wanted to keep and just extend it/add onto it. I also wanted to maximize space to make it go around the house, but we had a curved retaining wall. Alex handled all of that with such ease and we talked through how to make it look like one deck and follow the curves of our backyard. He even suggested tweaks along the way. It's so beautiful and looks so custom like it was always meant to be there. He's so great at what he does and such a nice person as well. Was fun to chat with him every day. I hope we have more projects to work with him again in the future! Definitely recommend him! (Photos: We still have work to do furnishing the deck and adding plants, landscaping, etc. Can't wait to make this space amazing!)
