I wasn't sure what I wanted, Kj helped me see my options and once I selected he went to work. Not to mention we had about 9-10 inches of snow. We all feel better about the safety of the children we look after in this home.

KJ was really helpful for my project of installing new light fixtures in my very old home. I don't believe that the wiring had ever been touched/updated so I was not comfortable replacing the fixtures on my own. He went out of his way and removed some metal transitions that remained in two doorways after I pulled up the carpet because I wasn't able to get them up myself. He was also very forthcoming with estimates for possible projects that I'm considering in the future. I'd happily work with KJ and Design 616 again!
It’s absolutely wonderful, in this post-covid age of staffing shortages and what seems to be an entire generation not wanting to get dressed and go to work, to have KJ arrive at my door on time, perform the needed repairs quickly and correctly, and have the cost of his services be exactly as expected! I’ll be a repeat customer, for sure!
Design 616 installed a wall outlet above my fireplace behind my TV and ran my cords through the wall. He went inside the house, under the house and checking to make sure everything was run correctly. He was efficient and extremely helpful. The price was fair and I’d hire them again and again.

Both times I worked with this contractor he left messes all around my house and didn't bother to clean up after himself. The pricing was decent the first go around so I brought him back to install a whole house fan. He ended up stepping through my ceiling and had to have someone come and fix it. Except that it wasn't completely fixed, he told me all I needed to do was finish sanding it down and paint it up. To me, that was unacceptable as I wasn't responsible for the damage. And not only did he not offer to knock any of the cost off he increased the cost from what was originally agreed.
So he came out to my house to replace a kitchen and exhaust fan. According to the person that did my inspection my fans weren’t exhausting so they needed to be replaced. He checked both fans which I found out were in fact exhausting to the outside of my home. My issue was that he charged $130 to this. He rushed out the door without placing the cover back on the kitchen exhaust fan. I had to call him back in from his truck to do so. He left my ladder in the hallway open and all the installation from the attic on my floor. I never had a contractor come to my home and not clean up their mess or replace covers or accessories. I feel like I been ripped. Maybe the next person will have a great experience but I definitely wouldn’t use them again!
KJ was awesome to work with. He rewired our kitchen during our demo/remodel and added new outlets. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and communicated with us to explain what he was doing during every step. He even caught a few mistakes or oversights we made when drawing out our new kitchen layout and talked us through them to come up with a solution. KJ was super fast, friendly, got the job done way sooner than expected in just a couple of days. We will be calling him to help with more projects in the future! (Don’t mind the mess in the photos, we’re in the middle of tearing the kitchen apart.)
