Nick of Dusty Roads Carpentry turned out to be a perfectly collaborative and creative partner to team up with as we faced two vexing fence projects. The first project involved a sagging and leaning fence that was seriously out of alignment on our southern property line. Nick gave us a very reasonable estimate for the project. The fix involved replacing the underlaying fence frame with redwood and preserving the feel of the existing fence by reusing the original pickets. His sagging fence fix involved some very creative solutions. He worked very quickly and saved us a lot of money by salvaging the original materials. His work and the work of his crew was inspired and very respectful both of our property and our neighbor's property. The second project sprang up to surprise us a day after the first project ended. Our property experienced high winds that literally blew half of the fence on our rear property line into our rear neighbors yard. Here again Nick was able to come up with some very creative solutions. One solution involved replacing and rebuilding the base of one of the cement block stabilizing columns that had been perched above a retaining wall. He ended up bridging the cement column area and inserting some wooden fence posts as an alternative. Again we were able to salvage and reuse the original white picket fence elements. All this in 110 degree heat. I can highly recommend Nick and his team. I grew to respect and trust his approach and creative solutions to problems. Thumbtack is lucky to be able to tap into his talents and use him as one of their pros.

Great work redoing my busted fence. Nick came out to quote, which was reasonable, set up a date for the work, and delivered. His team even finished early. I’m very impressed with the work and how they left the area; cleaner than they found it. Would highly recommend
Nick has been a pleasure to work with. He was responsive and punctual right from the start. His assessment and execution of the work was thorough and efficient and I love the result. I will definitely reach out to him for future home improvement projects!
Nick and his team were great from the start! I couldn’t recommend working with him more. He was very communicative, kind and understanding. Not to mention he did great work installing two gorgeous new gates! Can’t wait to hire him again for our next project
Nick/Dusty Trails made installing my room partition a reality. Responding quickly to my communication, scheduled quickly and provided insight off my text pictures. Had Nick assess my next project, and look forward to collaborating again. Highly recommend.
Nick and his team came out and replaced all of the original flooring in our home with LVP. They also replaced 3 toilets and worked with Home Depot to address an issue with the delivery on Home Depot’s part. They also helped prep the home for new paint by fixing multiple large cracks in the walls.
Nick did a fence around most of my yard and did it fast and did it well. Thanks!
Very professional
We hired this company to install a floating deck in our back yard. I cannot express how pleased we are and have hired Nick for another project. If you need an excellent carpenter, look no further!
Well done , friendly!
Look no further. Nick is the guy you would want to hire. Very well spoken, punctual organized and professional. Hired him for several projects to get my short-term rental property ready. My favorite of all was the fence extension he completed for maximum privacy. Came out F..ing perfect and super solid. His quotes for the projects were all reasonable, well written and detailed. He was always honest regarding which project he could not tackle. Thank you so much Nick and let's tackle the next project.
Nick is very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He is a great communicator and works very efficiently. I'm very pleased with how Nick installed my wall tapestry! I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a highly skilled handyman with a great deal of experience and technical training. I look forward to working with him on future projects.
I had a great experience with Dusty Trails. Nick was one of the few Carpenters who offered plan drawings prior to construction. The Drawings were based on our conversations and were imperative in completing my unique pergola design properly with no room for error. I'm very happy with the final result and plan on using Nick on future projects!!
