EKS Electric LLC

I’ve used EKS for several electrical jobs, and I’ve generally been satisfied with the quality of the work. Unfortunately, my most recent experience changed my opinion of the company. I called them to repair two outlets that had stopped working. After about an hour of troubleshooting, I was asked for authorization to simply replace the line, which I approved. Instead, troubleshooting continued for about four more hours, resulting in roughly $650 in charges for those two outlets. When I questioned the bill, the response was essentially sorry he didn’t explain that troubleshooting is billed hourly and there is no limit on how much can be charged. I tried to find some reasonable middle ground because I had planned to continue using EKS for the remainder of a fairly large project, but there was very little willingness to reconsider the decision to troubleshoot for five hours rather than replace the line as authorized. They ultimately took $50 off the bill, which honestly felt more insulting than helpful. The work itself was fine, but integrity, transparency, and fair billing matter just as much to me. Unfortunately, I won’t be using EKS for the remainder of my project or for future work.

Edwin responded within the hour and was able to fit me in on the same day! He communicated his pricing structure up front and was right on time. He took the time to explain everything he was testing/doing, presented clear suggestions and then fixed the issue within the same visit, including a run to the hardware store for supplies needed, all for the original price he quoted - no add ons at the end! I was very happy with his service and will definitely call him again!
