Mike was great to work with!
Mike's crew are not as professional as he claims. He was telling us that he sends his crew to attend innovation seminars and events and it's strange that they've never heard of Schluter waterproofing materials. They've spend hours on installing our Grohe shower system but still didn't do it correctly. Didn't remove the doors before painting causing issues closing the doors and had to cut the door in the bottom but led to gaps letting cold air in - An issue they couldn't resolve. Mike would give you low pricing but then charge a lot for any add-on, which he should have anticipated during the walkthrough and could have given more realistic pricing but he didn't do that intentionally just to get the job. Mike's crew didn't cover the drains during demolition. To us, that clearly shows that they're not very professional. They covered the work area with plastics, preventing dust from spreading throughout the house, which we liked. They left the garbage for days, saying that they'll pick up today but took a very long time to finally take the garbage. We had to be very much involved throughout the process because from the very beginning, we've realized that they're not highly professional to whom we could count on blindly. Nonetheless, Mike's communication was good. We think that he needs to work on providing a more realistic pricing during the walkthrough asking as many questions as he needs to and being more proactive overall, being able to assess any potential complications with the project. Also, he should provide more training or resources to his crew so that they're familiar with a variety of manufacturers and systems out there. His crew overall were nice, dedicated though need to work on their communication skills and need to have a more professional and positive attitude in approaching their clients. One specific crew member was easily getting annoyed when we tried politely communicating and coordinating with him. We were probably lot more involved than others but that's only because we had more information as to how each step of the process should be handled - We couldn't be sitting there and watching them do something traditional way when we knew there are better, more modern, efficient, and effective ways of doing these things.
