Unprofessional, dishonest, and amateur. Gill came to our house on time yesterday to discuss our project and provide a free quote. I greeted him at his car bc he was about to park in our neighbor’s spot. I asked him if he could park 3 houses down where it’s public parking and the whole road was available (it’s also where the access gate to our backyard is that I was going to show him). He said of course and turned around, I walked down to where I directed him to park (took about 20 seconds) and was confused bc he was not there. I stood there for 15 minutes holding my baby trying to figure out where he went and I called his company. The woman said she would call and find out what was happening. Another 10 minutes later (instead of calling me back) I get a completely fake excuse via text that he couldn’t find parking so he just left. Considering I was standing 50 feet from my house staring at about 20 empty parking spaces (and the entire rest of the block is public parking and residential and not crowded) this was a lie. They also tried to text there would prob be no room for a dumpster/trucks if they worked with us. Had they spoken to us, instead of driving away, could’ve easily explained that everyone on our street regularly gets work done and we coordinate with our neighbors to move cars (ie just got our roof done and dumpster/trucks parked right in front of our house). Frankly seems what happened was he drove up, cased out our house (though never saw the backyard where we wanted the project done) and decided we weren’t good enough for his time. That is completely fine and his right - but instead of just saying that honestly, he told me he was going to park and secretly drove off, wasted my time (and my kids who we recoordinated activities around this 30 minute meeting) and made his secretary concoct some lies to cover up some wildly amateur unprofessionalism. Hopefully next time if he doesn’t want a job he just says that instead.

Gill Services was very thorough and seemed very experienced in this type of project. He also took the time to explain the different pros and cons of each material and offered the best value of the other contractors I considered. He was very quick in getting back to me with an estimate as well, whereas the other contractors took a bit longer.

Unfortunately Gill’s crew caused water damage to our home and also installed tile sloppily & incorrectly in multiple places – then abandoned us. We had a bunch of other poor workmanship issues as well, but I’ll focus on the major items for brevity. When we attempted to address these problems with Gill, he abandoned us and wouldn’t have a discussion with us. He also refused to come see the issues in person. Some of the tile problems were: unlevel installation, uneven laying, backwards grading in the niche, and depressed tile/grout in the shower floor causing pooling spots that wouldn’t drain. We also have scratched tiles, wrecked finish trim pieces also with sharp metal burrs sticking out, among a list of other issues from low quality workmanship and poor oversight by Gill. Gill’s crew used their wet tile saw indoors and dumped/spilled the water basin (before floor tile was in). This caused a mold infestation bad enough that the subfloor plywood and Schluter ditra system had to be cut out, pulled up, and replaced. Obviously not by Gill or his team, given he walked away after causing a slew of problems in our home. I’m really bummed by my experience with Gill. I really liked Gill at the start of the project. He was kind and good to talk to. I also appreciated that he was a family man. However, when it came time to perform and stand up for his work, he failed… big time. Gill has a warranty in his statement of work. He has also failed to honor that warranty, so as a message to anyone considering Gill and his team based on our experience – 1. don’t expect work of even a basic minimum standard, 2. don’t expect them to honor their contractually bound terms, 3. don’t expect them to care for your home, 4. don’t expect them to communicate reasonably. We have permanent issues with the work from Gill’s team in our home. My strong recommendation to anyone considering Gill - It’s not worth the potential trouble, headache, poor workmanship, etc to continue your consideration of working with Gill’s team.

Will work with Gill and team again for any fencing related projects. Gill was responsive to my original request, came out to do an estimate in a very timely manner, and got his team on the job in no time to get the job done. Now our backyard looks 100 times better thanks to Gill and his team. Great work guys!

After receiving multiple quotes Gill was by far the most knowledgeable and professional. Even offered some great recommendations I didn’t even think of. He also offered the best price, hands-down.
