Rona knows her stuff 100%, an HVAC suprise cost shortened our time with her & we will have to wait to finish up our Ziggy lessons. She was punctual and very knowledgable. Even her discussions with us were so informative, we learned things about our dogs we never would have known, and we were just trying to teach our one unruly pup not to pull his leash for walks but we came away with much more. She is definitely a dog whisperer and she is who you need if you want to help your dog with basically anything.

About Good Dog Training
I got my initial training working with dogs that other people weren't able to train, so they ended up in shelters. I then completed a program to become a certified Integrative Trainer where I studied dog cognition and development, learning theory, and body language. When a dog is giving me a behavior I don’t force it to submit, I ask “why” so I can address the root cause, not just the symptoms. I use a combination of positive reinforcement, counter conditioning, behavior adjustment and understanding of your dog's emotional state. No force, no punishment. I also put a lot of attention on training the owner, not just the dog, so your dog creates a secure attachment to you and you are better able to communicate with each other. I can train a dog to be perfect when it's with me -- your dog needs to be just as good when it's with you, That's why I don't believe in board and train. I work with you in your home to help you develop the right relationship with your dog so he listens to YOU because you're the pet parent and the authority. Seeing a difficult dog become a great dog, even the first small steps when a dog "gets" a new behavior for the first time is exciting to me. I love it when my clients text me with excitement over seeing progress, usually in just a day or two. Most rewarding, is when I work with a dog who other trainers have labeled a "loaded gun" or hopeless and have recommended the owner get rid of or put down. I have yet to not be able to help a dog like that move past his fears and learn better ways to be in the world. And I love helping puppy parents learn how to meet their needs so they’re not bitey, crazy or afraid to be left alone as they grow. In addition to doing private training, I am also the training consultant for Lucky Lab Rescue and work with their fosters and adopters on-site and over the phone. I am also a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. I try to keep my services affordable because I want everyone to be able to afford the training they need so that fewer dogs end up in shelters because of problems that can be easily solved with the right training, and so that dogs and humans can be a happy family.

I’m a believer! I have a Rottweiler whom I adore, but whom many people told me was a lost cause. He developed aggressive behaviors and I became scared to even take him out of our home. In just 2 sessions with Rona, my baby and I have made huge strides. She puts a huge emphasis on training me as much as she does on training him, and I have learned more about communicating with my pup in the 2 hours together than I ever knew was possible. The proof is undeniable, and I am so excited to see the dog/trainer duo that we become with her help!
Rona totally explained in detail why I was having trouble training my puppy, explained her behaviors to me, how I was affecting them, and how to change my own behaviors to remedy her problems, and also gave me a wonderful list of things I could get for her to literally improve her life, accomplish housebreaking her, and explained exactly how to put them to use. She is also very kind and obviously cares about animals much more than money. I am so glad I found her and very highly recommend her.
We are so thankful to have found Rona. She was early to our session, super respectful and a great joy to have in our home. After two days our dachshund, Obi, is learning to listen and communicate with us as well as us with him. Thanks to Rona's advice we are learning how to properly teach him to be obedient and we are able to afford her reasonable prices. We are in shock at how many things we thought we were doing right and how we are able to now do things much better with Obi. It's totally worth the session if you spend the time with your pup and listen to the exercises that Rona gives you. We are seeing progress so far and are excited about our future sessions.
My dog is a changed man. One session with Rona and lots of practice and some adjustments in my own thinking and mindset have led to a level of calm that I had seriously doubted was possible. Do what she tells you, practice what you’ve been taught and watch her videos again to make sure you fully understand what you are trying to accomplish and why. You won’t regret it.

We just started training our 9-month old rescue puppy with Rona yesterday and I wish we had found her sooner! In just the first session I learned so much about how to connect and change the relationship with not just my puppy but the lessons have also helped my 8-year old dog already! Our puppy has responded well to the training and I’m hopeful that we will have a happier household as a result of working a few sessions with Rona. She knows how to communicate with dogs in a respectful, vs punitive manner, and our puppy responded to her right away!
We had our first session with Rona and she was so incredibly helpful. Her explanations are thorough and she can answer any questions you have. So far, the training tips and homework she has given me has been successful with my dogs and they respond well to her as well! Can’t wait to continue on with our lessons and see what else we can learn!
Rona was on point. We have had only one lesson and already we are seeing results. We have 4 dogs from 15 months to 12 years and range from 18 lbs to 80 lbs and we are committed to helping our dogs be the best they can be. With Rona's help, we are keeping that commitment. We cannot wait for our next lesson! She understands packs and the dogs language. She is helping us bring the tension and outburst against other dogs down with our new rescue and getting rid of the fear of new people with our german shepherd. She is teaching us how to take that tension and fear away by showing them we are the parents and if it is ok with us then it should be ok with them.
This my first experience working with a trainer. I initially liked what she had to say on her website and I am happy to report her actions reflect what she says. She is organized and prepared upon arrival and promptly gets to work. She offered my insight in how what I did was perceived by my dog and how my behavior as much needs to change going forward. This is as much training me as the dog. It was a rewarding first lesson and I can see some changes already. She’s not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to enter into a try partnership with your pet.
