I'd really like to rate Ivan higher as he's very friendly and professional, but the work itself left a lot to be desired and I needed to hire another contractor the following day to fix Ivan's work. I hired Ivan to mount a 60in OLED to the wall along with a media console + attach a soundbar. In my initial request, I asked for the wires to be hidden behind the wall. Ivan showed up on time, but took over 3 hours to complete the job. The reason for the extended time was because several things had to be redone. He mounted the wall mount bracket to the TV incorrectly and kept telling me that the TV was not the best match for the wall mount. In fact, the TV was fully compatible with the wall mount, but Ivan attached the bracket the wrong way. We needed to lift the TV onto the mount, then put it back on the couch because it wasn't connecting properly. We had to do this 3 times before Ivan installed the bracket correctly, at which point, the TV attached to the mount fine. I asked for the soundbar to be placed on top of the media console. Ivan became strangely preoccupied with putting the soundbar next to the couch, on the other side of the room. We had to discuss this multiple times before he understood that was not where I wanted the sound bar to go. When we were measuring the placement for the media console, I explained I wanted to put the subwoofer underneath it. Ivan said he'd mount the console right above the electrical outlet, which would allow enough room for the subwoofer to go underneath. Later on, he recommended that we lower the console to go over the electrical outlet where there would be access through the opening on the back of the console. I agreed, but did not realize this meant the subwoofer would no longer fit underneath the console. Ivan initially drilled 4 holes into the wall to mount the console, only to find that the bolts he had were not long enough. Then he drilled 2 more holes to attach the console mount to the studs. It was not clear why he didn't attached the console mount to the studs in the first place. Once the console was mounted, Ivan opened the console drawers to start feeding cables through the back opening into the outlet, only to find that the opening was not on top of the outlet. He missed it by a few inches. Ivan opted to run the cables along the side of the console and attach them to a power strip underneath, which was not what I had requested. The cables were fully visible. At this point, he'd been at my apartment for over 3 hours and it was 10:45pm. I opted not to correct Ivan on the wires, paid him, and he left. The console was too low and the wires were exposed. The TV was too high for the cables to go all the way to the floor, so when I moved the TV away from the wall, the power strip would lift off the ground. I needed to hire another contractor the next day to fix Ivan's work. It's clear he tried his best, but I would not hire him again.
Ivan installed some flush mount in ceiling speakers in my kitchen and great room and it turned out great. Him and his partner Chris did a phenomenal job and I’m happy with the quality of work. They were very professional, courteous, clean, and cautious. They made sure they covered everything up before they started to work And when the job was complete, it was like they were never there. Ivan and Chris are my new go to guys when I need something done. Thanks again Ivan and Chris.
