He ran into some delays and then he stopped showing up. I had to hire another contractor and he owes me 6K for work that he never completed. He's a nice guy but not very honest.
Things started out great, but unfortunately did not end well. We had two showers replaced and were going from fiberglass units to tiled walls. Essentially everything that happened in the walls created a lot of problems. The plumbing experience was not there and I had weeks of leaks to deal with myself And he just would not accept any responsibility for any of that. I lost over $1000 in rental fees and utilities housing Brian so he didn’t have to travel. also had to spend another thousand dollars to hire a separate plumber to fix his work. Even installed the handle on one of the showers improperly and I had to replace all seals myself. I had damaged walls, damaged ceilings, damaged doors, and trash left in the front yard and even the new fixtures he installed have damage on them. Once it was all over, he sent me a list of extra charges which I told him to be patient on so I could work out all of my additional charges incurred. I had already paid him the original contract amount. After two weeks, he threatened me with a lawsuit over about $500. I had every intention of paying it, but it just wasn’t on his schedule. The tile work looks ok, but was really disappointed with the experience in the end. No ownership for the normal challenges that came with normal shower replacements. UPDATE: I'm a homeowner here, not a GC. I guess a "complete shower package" doesn't include plumbing. He even removed the toilet himself to get space. I have the plumbers emails and texts too detailing their fixes to his work. Also have this contractors texts detailing his work on the plumbing with photos and videos. But he couldn't finish it so it became everyone else's fault. I had a broken tub that leaked and caused damage so I guess I shouldn't have filed an insurance claim. Contract was paid in full at completion, I just asked for some time on the extra's to see if I would get reimbursed on the claim because the extras weren't fair. I was told by this contractor to write "Happy birthday" in the venmo payment so he didn't have to pay fees/taxes on his preferred payment method. But I guess I'm shady for using insurance that I pay for. Work reviews are one thing, character shots are another. Just buyer beware.

I’m very glad we found Brian via Thumbtack. He responded right away, was very helpful in answering my questions, and did an excellent job installing an engineered hardwood floating floor over some dated tile. He did great work and was a pleasure to be around. He also brought creative solutions to a few areas around appliances and thresholds. I’d recommend him to anybody looking for quality work.

Brian was quick to initially respond, quick to view the project and went out of his way to find the bamboo flooring to repsir our water damaged flooring. A positive experience.
We called Brian for help after a shower installation left a gap between the existing tile and the new tub. Brian came out quickly to take a look and make a game plan and then completed the job a few days later. While he was here, he also patched a section of tile where the grout kept coming up. We are very pleased with the results!
