JF Construction returned my call promptly, came to my home, and gave me the best price I had received. We discussed the project and the potential start date, and the communication was professional and honest throughout the process. Although the job has not started yet, my experience with them so far has been excellent. Based on my experience up to this point, I would definitely recommend them.
I hired Jason’s team for what was estimated as a two-day job, and overall my experience was mixed. On the positive side, Jason was very responsive and communicative throughout the process. It’s clear he cares about his reputation and staying in touch with clients. However, I do want to share some important concerns about the actual work and pricing structure. I paid for two full days of work, but on the first day the worker (Pedro) was only at my home for about 4 hours. I was told I still needed to pay for the full day because he completed the planned work faster than expected, and that the remaining punch list items would be addressed on day two. I was fine with that as long as everything was completed properly. Unfortunately, that’s where things fell short. On the second day, it felt like the work was rushed to get through the remaining items, and the quality reflects that. Several things were either done sloppily or required me to step in and fix or finish them myself: * Bathroom fixtures were installed without using the anchors I purchased, and they are already coming loose * Fire alarms were installed incorrectly and kept beeping overnight; I had to troubleshoot and reset them myself * Grease marks were left on the alarms from installation * Closet doors and bedroom doors are no longer flush and need additional work * Weather stripping issue wasn’t properly addressed until I pushed back * Doorbell installation was initially declared complete but wasn’t working * Spackling work was messy, left residue on the vanity, and was not sanded Individually, some of these may seem minor, but taken together they point to rushed and inconsistent workmanship. My biggest recommendation: avoid the day rate and pay hourly if possible. The pricing structure didn’t align with the actual time spent, and it created an incentive to rush through the work. I would have gladly paid more for higher-quality, detail-oriented work. Instead, I was left needing to fix or revisit multiple items. While I appreciate the communication, I would not use this service again based on this experience.
