John gave me a bid of $5050 to install 80 Square Feet of tile, which did not even include the material, plus he was only removing linoleum. Because all the other bids were almost $3000 less, I reached out to verify the number and he tried to justify it. Only after I told him his price was ridiculously outrageous compared with the others that he claimed to have made a mistake. The bid he gave was for my project. He just tried to hustle me. Do not trust him. Get other bids.

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!!!! We are now on day three and the work is still not complete. J’s Home Services was hired to install vinyl plank flooring on 325 square feet and paint two small accent walls. After two full days of work, neither job has been finished. On top of the delays, the contractor attempted to raise the price after we had already agreed on a total. The owner later stated that he underbid the project, that it took longer than expected, and that he only provided an estimate. Claiming there was no way to know what the final cost would be. That is completely unacceptable. This is a straightforward flooring installation, not a complex or unpredictable project. If you provide a price and we agree to it, that is what I expect to pay! Trying to increase the cost after the work has started, especially without proper communication or approval, is unprofessional. Based on my experience, I would not recommend J’s Home Services.
