At first, I thought this company was pretty good. They were quick to respond. They came in and did an efficient evaluation, but when it came to the price, the estimate was incredibly high. The estimate ranged from about $8,400 to $9600, so with that price, we started looking for reviews. We wanted to confirm that this has a good reputation to ensure we were not getting scammed. We had four other companies come in, and the findings of the other companies were completely different from what King pest control was telling us. King pest control told us we had a total rat infestation in our attic, walls, and crawlspace. King Pest Control said we needed to remove all our insulation from the crawlspace and attic, each about 1200 ft.² of installation, baiting and traps, cleaning, sterilization, and rat-proofing our entire house. When the other pest inspectors came in, we discovered that we didn’t have any insulation in our crawlspace. King Pests Control was gonna charge us a lot of money to remove insulation that we didn’t even have in the first place, only about a 2-foot ring of insulation around the entry point going into the crawlspace. Also, the other inspectors didn’t find a rat infestation in our attic; the other inspectors did validate that we had a rat problem in the crawl space, which needs to be addressed relatively quickly. This company also led us to believe that no one else in the area offered the services of what they did, which is untrue. Not all pest control companies deal with rat-proofing and removing old insulation, but many excellent companies do so at reasonable rates. I would highly recommend hiring a different company. We ended up going with a reputable local company that only charged us about $2000 for everything that King Pests Control was offering.
