I hired this company to take over a project by another contractor who, unfortunately, had no licensing or insurance. Lumi Construction was contacted by me to fix what was wrong and continue the project. I wasn't aware that the number of workers included subcontractors, which naturally are not on their direct payroll. However, the one we had was great. That was the good part. Issues crept up as we went along. Since I was paying for all the material, the expenses to Lumi were less than minimal. The owner only appeared when he was looking for a check. The real issue came when we had agreed on getting a paid work completion letter showing expenses for the material and labor needed to fix the past contractor's mistakes. We had discussed this on acceptance of the proposal and at least 8 times after that recorded on emails and text. The owner promised every time I asked and even committed himself on two occasions that I would have it to review in 24 hours. Needless to say he no longer communicates as he has been paid in full! He never provided the online statement page so I could not see what was paid out. Lumi did extra work, which was just providing me with a cost and no breakdown. I asked for a breakdown, which never came- just more promises. It was inflated to say the least. Buyer beware! You need to look beyond the sweet talk!

Plan a head about windows and will take longer time for city permission. Builder do but track your city approval for your plan . Sometimes they take longer time .

Lumi Construction lowered the mantle above my fireplace to make space for a TV and installed the necessary electrical wiring to add an outlet on the brick. They completed the job in just a day and a half, and the results are fantastic! The team was professional, efficient, and delivered excellent-quality work. I cannot say enough about the Lumi team! They literally saved us from the nightmare left behind from a crooked contractor. From the beginning to the end, all went smoothly. We hired Lumi to finish our basement. I was impressed with the professionalism, attention to detail, and the time spent working through a few difficulties left behind from the previous contractor. This team worked from sun up to sun down, literally. To our surprise, they even showed up on thanksgiving weekend! They cleaned up every evening before leaving the property leaving everything swept up and tidy as best as possible. I wish I could rate the Lumi team a 10 because a 5 does not do this team justice. I can not say enough good things and Lumi and Luigi. They were prompt, friendly and the attention to detail was superb. Luigi was onsite many days, and if I had any questions or concerns he was there to answer them immediately. The entire process was great, from start to finish. Luigi the owner is great to deal with. During the project he communicated everything that was being done and provided his input on what will be best. As I made suggestions, they accommodated my needs and ensured the structure was supported properly. His team did a great job at cleaning up and making sure nothing was left behind. Luigi followed up the day after to make sure things where exactly as i wanted. Definitely will be reaching out in the near future for projects such as my roof and basement.
