I have over 30 years’ experience in writing, editing, layout, public speaking, tutoring, and coaching others. I’ve been an avid reader since age three. I know the English language! •I have created monthly newsletters for three clubs, writing reports myself and obtaining and editing others from members. I also completed the layout, printing, and mailing. •I am trained in Public Relations and have often held press conferences myself and trained others how to do it effectively. •I am trained in reading and writing legal briefs, and have managed several lawsuits for one of my employers. •I have edited a novel for a friend, a recently published novel, and an electrical repair manual so far. •I have trained people in public speaking and in sales. •In my most recent job I trained and coached a team of 40 to 50 people how to effectively hand out samples and sell the product. •I have tutored writing and speaking for several non-native speakers of the English language and helped one get straight A grades in college and eventually a job in that school’s IT department. •I have worked for large organizations in their communications and advertising departments helping to craft the written word to best support the unfolding vision within the company. •I have tutored two PhD students toward their degrees.. Services I offer: •I tutor people of all ages who need help with any aspect of the English language. •Phonics •Beginning reading •Spelling *Pronunciation *Grammar *Vocabulary *Basics of writing: sentences, paragraphs, etc. Public speaking Middle English Pricing for tutoring: •I charge by the hour for tutoring and the same for 45 minutes as for an hour. (You might as well take the full 60 minutes.) •The first session is always free so we can get to know each other and I can evaluate the student’s needs. •After the first session I expect payment ($50 an hour) before the start of the lesson. •I give a ten percent discount to anyone who pays for ten sessions in advance: $450 for ten lessons. Helping people attain that knowledge is completely satisfying to me.

I’m a full-time working widowed mom, and one of my biggest stresses has been making sure my homeschooled girls get the individualized attention they need with reading and writing. Before finding Ms. Lynn, I honestly felt defeated. I was doing everything I could, but it still felt like I wasn’t giving my girls what they truly needed. I had tried a tutor before, and the experience left me even more discouraged. When I read about how Ms. Lynn approaches teaching: having students write, choosing one skill at a time to focus on, and keeping an ongoing vocabulary list—I finally felt a sense of hope. I loved that she tailors each lesson to what the student needs most. Fast forward about 20 lessons, and Ms. Lynn has been wonderful for both of my girls, ages 6 and 10. My older daughter loves to read but struggles with writing and spelling. I’ve already seen improvements in both, and I’m excited to see how much more she grows. My 6-year-old is also making steady progress in reading, writing, and spelling. Both of my girls talk all the time about how much they love Ms. Lynn. My older daughter even told me she wants to be a “Zoom teacher” when she grows up, which says so much about the confidence she’s gaining and how much she respects and appreciates Ms. Lynn. I would absolutely recommend her to any family, especially those homeschooling, whose child needs support in reading, writing, or spelling.

Ms. Lynn helped my Daughter for two years on English reading, grammar and vocabulary. Lynn customized the curriculum based on the needs of my Daughter. She was very accommodative, patient and very effective. My daughter had amazing change in the way she started reading both fiction and non fiction books. Allen, 11 yrs old, has been working with Lynn for about 8 months and has improved his writing and vocabulary tremendously since beginning. Lynn provides homework each week consisting of learning new vocabulary words and a short essay. Allen looked forward to his lesson each week.
