I’ve only just begun working with Marcus, but I really appreciated him taking the time to talk with me about what to expect from lessons and to share some wisdom about music and the music business. He’s very quick to respond, and his lessons take place in person, which is a huge plus. I’m very excited to continue learning from him, and I would recommend him to anyone looking to grow in their skills as a pianist or musician at any level.

About Made By Maam Studio
Made By Maam Studio offers private piano and music production lessons in Los Angeles — in person in the Mid-Wilshire area and online. The approach here is analytical: students learn how music is structured, not just what to play. When the logic becomes clear, the instrument stops feeling random. Students develop ear training, harmonic understanding, rhythmic precision, and the ability to break down unfamiliar music independently. The goal is not recital readiness — it’s musical autonomy. Serving teens, adults, producers, and returning musicians. Berklee-trained instructor with professional credits in film scoring and composition. Serving Mid-Wilshire, Hancock Park, Koreatown, Miracle Mile, and surrounding Los Angeles neighborhoods.
Reviews
Marcus is a talented piano teacher and easy to work with. He has a creative and effective teaching style that blends playing skills and music theory to set you up for progress and success. I learned so much at just my first lesson and can highly recommend!
Really great quality lessons. Learning so much already
Marcus is an incredible teacher with a patient and effective teaching method. In a couple lessons I’m starting to have more fun playing piano than I ever have. His way of teaching creates simple practices, that are not overwhelming, and quickly add up to bigger breakthroughs in your playing and understanding of music.
Very happy with the range of music theory knowledge Marcus brings along with the diversity of music genres he is able to teach. Both of my sons (10 and 12) are enjoying their lessons with Marcus tremendously.
Marcus is by far one of the best teachers I’ve had. He’s relatable, insightful, and always finds ways to push me to be a better musician. I’ve progressed much faster in the few months that I’ve been playing the piano than going other routes of learning. Would highly recommend for people of all ages who are eager to get started/advancing their skills.
Marcus provides excellent guidance and is a multi-talented instructor.
Marcus is an amazing teacher. He makes the lessons very relatable to my 9 year old son. I’m so excited to see his growth
My daughter is enjoying the lessons and learning a lot from such a skilled teacher
Marcus is a superb teacher. Creative, deeply knowledgeable, and an excellent communicator. I am a senior beginner and we are doing piano via video.
