Booking and communication was nearly immaculate with Mateen. However, I do have some concerns. It’s a bit interesting that he advertises himself as a comedian, but unfortunately told no jokes at my birthday event. Before the event: I thoroughly informed Mateen of my vision with each game. I had a strong inclination that none of my notes were written down, and none of the games he was scheduled to host were reviewed prior to the event. How do I know this - a lot of the recited answers weren’t pronounced correctly. I also informed him that I typically host my own games - as a matter of fact, one of the answers to the questions was that my dream job is to be a TV Show Host. Any comedian could have easily played on that fact about me and allowed me to help host some of the games or at least give me the mic to share the correct answers. Many of my 60 guests complained of his speediness in rushing through the games & cutting me off when I tried to add some flavor to the conversation. I honestly felt that he did not care to be there and was only in it to collect his money and get out of there. This is an honest and raw review.

Mateen is great to work with. We found him through our friends at their wedding in which he officiated, and knew he would be perfect for our wedding as well and luckily he was available- if not we would’ve changed the date without hesitation. The ceremony was perfect he is fun, and has all of the right words to say. We did not want a traditional boring ceremony, and are incredibly happy with how it went and received so much great feedback.
Mateen was absolutely amazing at our wedding. All our guests loved his demeanor and he made people laugh and cry with his officiating. We loved his personal touches and projected voice. Mateen went above and beyond for our wedding as both the officiant and the MC, almost two years after we first contacted him! From coordinating the ceremony procession to perfect vows, he truly made our ceremony a dream. During our reception, he was the life of our party (and I was so, so thankful for this, as our intimate wedding included many wall sitters.) He continued taking my (probably annoying) requests and playing the best music for the rest of us, as if there were 100 people on the dance floor. My only regret is that we did not in fact have 100 people on the dance floor, because he deserved an audience. Thank you for everything, Mateen!
Mateen is wonderful both as officiant and as an emcee. He was professional in every way and had a way to get the guests involved. I wish I'd known him years ago for my wedding. I would have asked him to be our officiant in heart beat. I would hire and recommend him over and over.

Mateen was amazing!!! We had one meeting before the wedding and he asked us a few questions to help personalize our ceremony and he delivered! It was just a beautiful ceremony and after he made sure to fill out the paperwork and send it out for us! Really made it easy breezy so if you are looking for an officiant- book Mateen!
