Matt bid the job and his crew showed up on time and we very nice, cleaned up after themselves. A few months later I had to call Matt back because the person he sent out didn't do what we agreed on. Now part of my soffit material he was originally supposed to put up will not fit properly. The first time I called to tell him the situation he said he would come out the next week to fix the problem, he never showed up. I have called multiple times, sent him text messages and he will not return my calls!

Matt did a terrific job building a porch on the front of my home. I gave Matt a rough idea of the design and he implemented just as we wanted. I appreciated the attention to detail and Matt's willingness to make everything right.

Matt was great, extremely reasonable and reliable. I'm a woman who can't make up my mind and I changed the layout of our can lights multiple times, along with a couple of other last mjnute changes. Matt was completely understanding and didn't make me feel like I was being a burden at all. He took care of everything from painting, plumbing, electrical, dry wall, and he even tore down a wall and put in a support header for us! Jim that worked for him was extremely knowledgable and helpful as well.
We hired Matt to finish our basement into a living space with a bedroom and bathroom. His bid was very thorough and during it he took the time to walk through the best way to set up our vision, such as the bathroom layout, what size of window we needed to get for the bedroom, the bedroom layout with the closet, etc. Throughout the entire process he added great suggestions and new ideas that helped us get exactly what we were wanting. We added the addition of a bar towards the end of the project and Matt went above and beyond to accommodate the changes and stay with the timeline. Matt was on site almost daily to check in and address any questions we had. His crew was great and we are very happy with the end results! We will definitely use Mateo Homes again if we have any other remodels in the future!
Matt was very prompt, communicated well and was able to meet me the same day. He was knowledgable about our project and familiar with the permit process. Although we were unable to hire him at this time due to a different complication, we would have been very comfortable having him as a contractor. If we have any future projects, he will be the first person we call!
I needed Matt to bid on some insurance work. The work may never be done as the house might get sold to a developer for demolition but Matt's bid was expert and thorough.
I was responsible for the remodeling of a commercial space to fit our store standards/look. Matt took great notes during our original meeting at the space, was engaged in the plan discussion, executed the plan flawlessly, and yet was also quick to offer advice/improvements. He's very open to feedback, flexible with changes, extremely accommodating, and a great communicator. I was unable to be at the location during the remodel, but he was quick to send progress pictures and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure I liked the direction and look we were achieving. Anyone who hires Matt for their job would be doing themselves a favor, as the peace of mind of a job well done is priceless.
