Mikado Architecture designed and built our 4,400 sq. ft. custom home in Oro Valley, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. From the very beginning, their team handled the entire process seamlessly — architectural design, interior design, furnishing selections, and full construction management. Having one cohesive vision from concept through completion made all the difference. Every detail was intentional, thoughtful, and beautifully executed. What truly sets Mikado apart is their integrity and efficiency. They not only delivered an exceptional home, but they came in under budget and finished the project four months ahead of schedule — completing everything in less than a year from the start date. That level of performance in a fully custom build is almost unheard of. They went above and beyond at every stage, communicated clearly, solved problems proactively, and treated the project with the same care and pride as if it were their own home. I cannot recommend Mikado Architecture highly enough. If you are looking for a team that combines inspired design, disciplined execution, and absolute professionalism, Mikado is unmatched. Stefan is the best.

We’ve worked with Mikado Architecture twice in the past year on major projects, and both experiences have been exceptional. Our projects seemed to hit every obstacle possible, yet Stefan guided us through each challenge with patience, confidence, and a calm professionalism that made all the difference. He kept us updated every step of the way, explained what was happening and why, and always made us feel like our project was a priority. Thanks to his expertise and steady communication, both projects were completed smoothly despite the hurdles. We’re truly grateful for the care and dedication Stefan put into our work and wouldn’t hesitate to hire Mikado Architecture again.
Steffan was amazing to work with! We had an emergency situation and he jumped on it and assisted us with no questions! I would HIGHLY recommend.
I’m a real state developer and I worked with Mikado Architecture to create prints for a subdivision that will eventually lead to a new construction. I had a great experience working with Mikado Architecture, quick follow ups, responsive and customer friendly communications, timely updates and follow ups on the status of blueprints. Overall I highly recommend Mikado Architecture.
We were initially looking for a draftsperson to help our architect with project drawings. After speaking with Mikado, we realized they were over qualified for that, but also flexible in their approach and willing to be a thought partner/consultative resource for items beyond just drawings. It turned out to be a great decision, as we leaned on Mikado heavily throughout the design process - asking for design and creative thought was met with thoughtful, robust solutions. Very happy with the experience and product.
Working with Stefan was a breath of fresh air after having a not so great experience with my previous architect. He was so easy to work with, was super communicative and diligent in his work. I am so glad I chose him to continue my project!
Did a great job and was super easy to work and communicate with. Would highly recommend.
It took us a while to find our dream lot but then came building our dream home. Stefan and his team took our ideas and turned them into the most luxurious space we now call home. We were able to complete everything almost 90K under budget. Highly recommend Mikado!
Stefan was great. Very knowledgeable about the process that was needed to get us “home” He was very punctual and responsive. Highly recommended.
Can't say enough about working with Stefan at Mikado. His work quality is solid, he's incredibly resourceful, and while he seeks to incorporate your ideas about the project - he's never afraid to suggest changes that add value to the end outcome. We had some pivots throughout our project (as with any construction project) and Stefan proactively worked with the city to resolve concerns and then sought out solutions that made our path to breaking ground easier. Further, as an owner-builder - Stefan was willing to work with us to make things happen. We chose to manage our project ourselves due to previous bad outcomes / poor experiences with general contractors in the valley. That adds a little complexity for an architect, but Stefan worked through those challenges. It's clear he treats every client with the same care and respect, no matter if it's a preferred GC or homeowner seeking to engage. We're about to break ground on the project in a few weeks. For now I'm just going to post the picture on the front of our permit set - but will be sure to update along the way! Highly recommend Mikado to anyone.
