Billy is so knowledgeable and repair my roof with high quality and reliable, three year warranty so I don’t have to worry about future rain in Modesto anymore. Billy and Alvin renewed my faith in Thumbtack contractors!! They helped us finish out a bathroom remodel (including fixing flooring mistakes another contractor had made, fixing drywall, installing baseboards, and installing toilet, vanity & sink fixtures), and did fantastic work. He took the time to show me issues and pointed out options (band-aid vs. true fix), was upfront on pricing, and was excellent with communication and timeliness. We will definitely be hiring them again for future work!
I had contacted Billy regarding a leak in the toilet. After explaining over the phone, he mentioned it could be the faulty wax seal and that would cost around $175 to fix and could come around 2pm that day. I also messaged him about fixing a bidet but didn’t get any response. He came around 2:40pm with two other guys. He took a look and said it was weird but the went ahead and removed the toilet and mentioned it was the wax seal and he replaced it with a korky’s waxless seal. The whole process took about 30min. The work seemed fine. However he didn’t caulk it. Said he would come another day to do it. He said the charges are $180 after major discount!!! When I mentioned that he had told me $175 without any discount, he agreed to it. I had bought a bidet myself and asked him if he could help fix it. After taking a look, he said we would need extra parts and that it would cost around $200 to fix it (the bidet was $30 :/) . Since he didn’t have time, he said he would come the next day. After they left, I noticed that the water was still visible around the toilet and this time, I took time and traced it to the bolt connecting the flush tank. I mentioned it to Billy and he said he would come another day to fix it and after not hearing from him for a week. I tightened the bolt in the flush tank to take care of it. After reading the instruction on the bidet, I was able to connect it myself without any extra parts in 10min!! So overall, not much of a handyman experience from him!!
The guys where very nice. I felt comfortable with them installing my door. They did an excellent job. Thank you so much
