About Nestory Designs
Welcome to Nestory Designs I’m Sam — a licensed Civil Engineer in California with 9 years of experience in design, engineering, and construction. After my partner and I moved into our first home, we realized something special: every home tells a story. Our space felt like a nest — safe, meaningful, uniquely ours. That’s when Nestory was born: a blend of “nest” and “story,” because a home is always more than just its structure. At Nestory Designs, we help you turn your ideas into reality — whether it’s designing a home from the ground up, refreshing your interiors, or producing permit-ready construction sets. We believe good design should be both beautiful and affordable. Let’s create your Nestory — together.
Reviews
Very professional and did a great job
Sam was extremely helpful in reviewing our home remodeling plans, and provided guidance about the options and questions to discuss with a contractors. He was very responsive (even late in the day and on the weekend), asked clarifying questions about the scope and rationale for the work, and gave clear and helpful recommendations. I would highly recommend Sam and Nestory to discuss any structural engineering needs.
I had the pleasure of working with Nestory on the plans for my balcony, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the results. From start to finish, he was professional, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to understand my vision, offered helpful suggestions, and delivered a set of plans that were not only beautifully designed but also structurally sound and compliant with local regulations. Communication was always clear and timely, and his attention to detail really stood out. Thanks to his expertise, I feel confident moving forward with the project, knowing that everything has been thoughtfully and expertly planned. Highly recommend Nestory to anyone looking for quality architectural or engineering work!
We had a great experience working with Sam, who is very responsive and flexible to make a plan that worked for us. We needed to do a drawing somewhat retrospectively for a carport that was already partially built, so it was important that we had minimal rework and yet working towards something that's compliant to code. Sam was very patient in getting all our requirements and worked closely with us through several iterations with creative ideas to make it work. We appreciate his overall communications and professionalism and would definitely work with him again!
I truly appreciated the professionalism and responsiveness of Sam. He was always punctual, clear in their communication, and respectful of my time. It’s rare to come across such dependable service. Highly recommend reaching out if you’re looking for a team that values professionalism and prompt follow-ups!
Nestory was fantastic to work with—responsive, clear, and incredibly easy to communicate with. They broke down a complex topic into simple, understandable terms, which made the entire process straightforward and stress-free. I highly recommend Nestory Designs and will definitely work with them again as we move into the next stage of our remodel.
I did not end up working with Sam as i did not pursue the project. But Sam was very professional and detailed in his responses. Definitely recommend
