Technician Wade showed up,diagnosed my problem promptly and fixed it immediately. He explained what my issue was so that I could understand it. He was courteous, professional, friendly and even showed up a little earlier than scheduled. Five stars all the way! Immediate response to help me with my stupidity of not remembering to reset a GFI
I originally told Onyx I would not leave them a bad review, as it’s not worth my time. I have now changed my mind on that, since they have doubled down on trying to rip me off. I had Tim from Onyx out to my home as I was only getting power in half my house. It was determined that I have a phase that was out, and Tim told me he could fix the issue, for $990. I was not comfortable with this quote, as it was only about 10 feet of wire, maybe $80 at the very most in material. Thank God I called my father who lives out of state, who has an electrical background, and he told me what Tim was saying, doesn’t make sense. I actually put my dad on the phone with Tim so they could talk the lingo, and it became very obvious that Tim was caught in a lie. I declined any more service and had Duke out the next day, who fixed the issue for free. I received an email two days later from Tim asking if I wanted to proceed with the quote and scope of work. This was after Onyx told new they apologize and have coached the tech, which was obviously a lie. I feel very sorry for all the people this company has ripped off in the past and will do so in the future. I wish I had a trusted company to plug in this review, but I have yet to find one, but Onyx is not it. Unless you want to waste money and replace things that do not need replaced, I would hire any other company out there. Even if Onyx offered to fix anything for free, I would decline, and hire and gladly pay someone who is honest and trustworthy. The burnt connection in the picture was the issue, which the power company fixed for free, and Onyx wanted to charge me $990 to fix this. Beware!
Arrived on time. Tim was great wish all technicians were as pleasant as he was.
I called Onyx for a quote and they came out the same day to provide one. After explaining what I wanted done which was installing a new 200 amp service and moving our main electric service from over the home onto the side of the home Matthew came up with a game plan to execute the project. They completed the job in one day at a very reasonable price compared to competition. I definitely highly recommend them for your electrical needs.
