Paulin is a top-notch professional that corrected 5+ years of cracks and missing mortar on our stone walls, steps and walkways. The workmanship is second to none, he has vast knowledge of stone architecture, and it shows in his work.
Not professional! We paid for material, but he also purchased tools to do the job! That’s like hiring a builder and buying the hammer! His work was far from high quality and needed to be redone. He never completed the work he was paid for and when I told him to leave everything I paid for he took the tools! Never capped the stone pillars and left gaps in fireplace mantle and floor area. Beware!
We needed a small platform created for our new outdoor trash can holders... not a big job, but Paulo knocked it out for us quickly and at a good price. Very nice work and Paulo is great to work with. We'll definitely have him back to do more work for us.

Paolo and his team are great! I submitted a request for a patio extension quote and Paolo responded immediately, came to my house to asses the job that afternoon and began work the next week - completing the job in a day and a half. We had Paolo Masonry do a small repair job for one of our walkways and stone facade some superficially crumbling stoops. He did a nice job acting the two stoops but had some issues: 1. He was to repair any damaged stone slabs for the walkway and forgot to bring any additional slabs. While he replaced the joint concrete and repaired most, one he left a broken corner and just placed concrete in place. Not attention to detail as he stated in his profile. 2. A large stone slab on the stoop was about 3/4” elevated and I expected that to be addressed with the work. When I asked him about it he did not think it was in scope and was very resistant to addressing. I pushed him and he fixed it. Again, no attention to detail. 3. At the end, I wrote him a check for the work and then he knocked on the door and said the price was not as agreed—$200 more. I remember very clearly what he stated as did my spouse. He swore it was the higher amount. I paid him just to move on. Feel like he was trying to take advantage that I did not get it in writing. While he may be better on larger jobs, this was a relatively small job and he didn’t seem to care much. He actually said, “I thought this was just a temporary fix for 1-3 years.” Who says that to a client? Overall, would not use again.
I can't say enough great things about Paulo (and his team) but I'll give it a shot. I needed to get my deck and walkway in the backyard done. He is very professional to begin with. He responded the same day I reached out to schedule for the next day and within 24 hours, thoroughly understood my requirement and gave me a quote that was most reasonable among those who assessed the job. He is very experienced, having decades of it, which reflected in his work. From the get go, he had a creative vision about the project. He challenged some of my initially held ideas and proposed his (with pictures) which were far better than mine. He skillfully finished the job in a way that was beyond my expectation. He also stood by the initial proposed budget. As a person he is extremely hardworking, kind and humble. All my interactions with him were only positive. I have recommended him to few already and would definitely hire him again for the next job that's coming shortly.

Had a great experience with Paulo Masonry. He came out to meet me and provide a quotation within 12 hours of submitting a request on Thumbtack, and I found his quote to be very fair based on my research. He was on-site with his crew within 48 hours and worked very full days to take on a significant project involving (1) removal of brick driveway, (2) installation of belgian block driveway, (3) installation of belgian block landscaping borders and soil, (4) installation of bluestone pavers, (5) installation of paver stepping stones, etc. Quality of installation was excellent, on time, good value, good communication - no hesitation in recommending.
Very good work. Was completed quickly. Accommodated our requests and quality of materials was great.
