About Peter Overman, Interior Designer
My Chicago based interior design practice is focused on creating beautiful, functional environments that reflect an elevated vision of my clients' taste and personality. Each project focuses on bringing together a look and feel that compliments the existing architecture of the home while bringing new life to the space with bold innovative design concepts. I work on a variety of project types from home renovations down to detailed decisions on decor and accessories. Many of my projects focus on 1 or 2 rooms within the home, but full home design and even smaller consultations are aspects of my business as well.

Had a great experience with my renovation that Peter designed at my Chicago. Condo. He did an excellent job of bringing together, furniture, wall, coverings, and other aesthetics to make the place look great. And he was always very mindful of my budget and made choices that were a great fit for the look and for the wallet. He delivered a great look in a collaborative environment. We worked hand in hand, but his suggestions are always ones that I gravitate to. I’ve dealt with several interior decorators over the years and I have to say my experience with Peter was one of the best. I highly recommend him.
Seems Mr. Overman doesn’t want to work. Contacted through the app and he actually asked me and we set up a time to talk. At the time of the appointment he doesn’t call. I let’s him back that I’m available to talk. No response. 2 hours later I texted if he was interested in pursing. Still no response. I’m assuming he doesn’t care to work with me. He still could have texted that he was busy or doesn’t want to pursue but no answer. I would suggest to others not to use this guy
We are continuing to use Peter. We find him very intuitive and professional in his approach to our needs.
Was interested in buying an older home which needs walls moved due ti small rooms. Everyone else blew me off and told me ti talk to a general contractor. But GC’s don’t know if rooms are livable or not. Very professional and understanding of what I was trying to do.
Peter is nice and very pleasant to communicate. However, after spending one K, all we get is the floor plan and the rough design of the second bed room enclosure plan that we did not use. It is not his fault but in retrospect, I wish I had used those on line services. I will be able to get pro design for at least two rooms!
I couldn't ask for a better designer than Peter. He listens, sticks to budget, makes suggestions that align with your style, and is fun to work with. I looked forward to every moment spent with him. He will deliver on your ideal design needs.
Peter is professional and knowledgeable. He is easy going as he explores your tastes and needs.
Peter was awesome to work with. His ability to understand my own stylistic preferences and use that knowledge to guide me through the decorating process produced a result that I am thrilled about. He was very timely and accommodating as well as extremely conscious of my taste and budget. Highly, highly recommend.
Peter helped me lay the foundation to what will become my dream place. We talked extensively about different furniture layouts and he took the time to explain what different styles meant (contemporary/modern and etc) and answered all the questions I had. I work 8-4 M-F so I was pleased that he met me on my schedule. I decided to part ways with Peter instead of having him do my entire place because he set me on a good enough path that I felt like I could finish it on my own. I didn't expect the initial drawing to take more hours than the retainer fee, but I am still happy with what I got.
