It was refreshing dealing with a company who showed up on time when they said they would be there, they did quality work and delivered on every promise. They made sure that the work area was cleaned up and left nothing for us to do accept put our patio furniture on our new beautiful deck. They work hard to get the job done. I would use them again and I would feel comfortable recommending them to my friends, family and neighbors.

We recently had a new deck installed by Proper Home Construction, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Ben and his team arrived on time, worked efficiently, and maintained a high level of professionalism throughout the project. Ben, the owner, was on-site the entire time, which was very impressive. The deck was completed in just four days, including two sets of stairs, picture-frame detailing, and lattice work around the entire deck. The team kept the work area clean and neat throughout the process. I highly recommend Ben and Proper Home Construction. We look forward to working with Ben on future projects. You won’t be disappointed!
Paid $2,700 for a skylight replacement. It started leaking within 1–2 weeks of installation and has leaked on and off for almost a year. The contractor missed multiple scheduled appointments without notice, came back twice to fix it, and it still leaks.we had to cover it with plastic as a temporary fix. When I asked for a full refund, he offered $500 and stopped responding to messages. Very frustrating experience; I would not recommend. This is really unacceptable that I trusted his 5.0 review on this web and turned out to be a nightmare experience that we need to deal with leaking for a year after spending $2700. I’m so disappointed!
I’m very happy with my new (renovated) deck and would definitely recommend this company. From the beginning, Behar, the project manager, was very cooperative and willing to work with me to negotiate a contract price that I felt comfortable with. He was able to start the project quickly and, most impressively, completed the entire deck in just one week, exactly as promised. There were several workers involved throughout the week, but Mike, a 23-year-old was there every day, and really stood out. He was wonderful—hardworking, pleasant, respectful, and clearly took pride in the work. It was nice to have someone there consistently throughout the project. The finished deck looks beautiful, and I’m very pleased with how quickly and efficiently the project came together. They also hauled away a tremendous amount of old decking and debris. There were a few things that could have been handled better. A gate that was included in the contract was overlooked, and we agreed to deduct $$ from the final bill since it wasn't completed. There were also some additional-cost items that weren't as clear to me initially, so I would recommend making sure all extras are clearly discussed and agreed upon before materials are purchased or work is done. I also had to do some additional cleanup myself, particularly picking up nails and small pieces of wood left in the yard, and I had to remind them to return some of the heavy furniture and outdoor items they had moved before construction began. That said, overall I am very pleased with the experience. Behar was very responsive and cooperative, the project was completed incredibly quickly, and most importantly, I absolutely love my new deck. Having a beautiful new deck completed in only one week was an amazing result. I would definitely recommend them, and I especially appreciated their willingness to work with me and their commitment to getting the project completed on time. They were all a pleasure to work with and I would definitely hire them again for any future project.
I had Proper Home Service rebuild my front porch, and they did an amazing job. The porch was in very bad condition and needed a full rebuild, including framing, footings, decking, stairs, railings, columns, trim, lattice, permits, and inspections. They handled the project professionally, communicated with me throughout the process, and made sure the work was done properly. The finished porch looks beautiful, feels solid, and completely changed the front of my home. I really appreciated their attention to detail and willingness to work with the specific design and materials I wanted. I’m very happy with the outcome and would definitely recommend Proper Home Service.
Very happy with our job. From requesting a quote to work being completed took less than a week. New deck steps and railings look great. Would definitely use them again.
Ben and the team at Proper Home Construction did an amazing job on my deck. Not only did they do a fantastic job but they cleaned up the area and left the space looking so much better than they came. I am looking forward to working with them on my next home project. Contact them… you won’t be disappointed!!!
They did an AWESOME job on my back deck. He came out to look at the job, gave me a very fair price and installed my deck in a week. I couldn’t be more happy about the finished product. HIGHLY recommend!!
I am happy and really appreciate the work they had done on my deck and stairs. Responds fast, professional, flexible with scheduling the job and very nice. The stairs were very old and they did a great job on them, they look very nice and are very sturdy. I recommend working with them on your home projects.
Ben is by far the best I've ever worked with. He rebuilt my old wooden deck with Trex material and it is beautiful as I initially visioned. I'm an engineer with serious OCD and I see every detail and flaws. Ben was always receptive and shared some great ideas to improve my design as well. Ben and his crew were very puntual and respected all my comments and wishes. His cost was also very competitive and no upcharge unlike most other contractors typically do. Ben's work quality is superb, does not cut corners, and is a man of intergrity. He also stands behind his own work--even after the fully payment. I highly recommend Ben to all my friends. Thanks for the beautiful deck, Ben!!!
Behar and his crew did a great job on my deck. They were fast and efficient even in the winter conditions and gave me a good price. Highly recommend.

I couldn’t be happier with the work done by Proper Construction. From start to finish, everything was handled with the utmost professionalism. They were always punctual, responsive, and made the entire process stress‑free. The quality of the work is absolutely beautiful and exceeded my expectations. The crew was fantastic as well—respectful, polite, and clearly dedicated to doing the job right. It’s rare to find a team that combines skill, reliability, and courtesy so seamlessly. I highly recommend Proper Construction to anyone looking for top‑notch craftsmanship and service. I will hire again for other projects I have.
I hired Ben to extend my existing deck and build steps to be able to go down to my yard from the deck. Everything from start to finish of the process was excellent. He is very professional, punctual and reliable. His pricing was the best as well. I will be hiring him again to paint my deck in the future.
Ben did an amazing job on our deck. He was very punctual and worked diligently to repair and restore it, making it reusable. I highly recommend him for his excellent work!
