My name is Rachel but my good friends call me Ray. When I am not shooting you can find me in yoga pants working on the seasons latest Fashion Trends. I am an Apparel Designer by day and a Wedding and Portrait Photographer in my free time. My photography style is genuine, real and authentic. I will do anything to capture your day or moment while keeping a smile on your face. I am a natural light photographer which means I never use studio lighting. I make it simple for you, keep it light and focus on the precious candid moments that naturally occur between a couple madly in love to your growing family.

She was professional before and during our wedding. Unfortunately, it has now been 14 weeks since our wedding and we still have not received our photos, despite the contract stating a 6-week delivery timeline. We have reached out multiple times via text, call, and email over the past several weeks and have received no response. The complete lack of communication and professionalism has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Update 1/29/2026: two weeks now have passed since she answered me after this review was posted. She told me I'd get the photos in a few days and that they were done. Multiple emails now and zero answer. This has been the most absolutely frustrating experience and I will never recommend Rachel to anyone in the Madison area.
Ray James Photography was absolutely incredible for our farm wedding! Ray was professional, creative, and so kind and patient throughout the entire day. She guided us effortlessly, captured every candid moment and beautiful detail, and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera.
