Replaced rotten steps to the front porch for a reasonable price. Had a few communication problems with the job requirements, but the finished product was satisfactory. I did not like that the man who arrived to do the work did not speak English.
I’m am please with the prompt response and quality of work which was done in a timely manner. There four items I needed taken care of. 1. Stair handrails, securing screen on my screen door, bathroom shower plywood repair and replace air vent in bathroom. Job well done!
I have nothing but good things to say about Red Cedar. They were prompt to respond to my request for a quote to rebuild the stairs on our front porch. They did such a good job on the steps that we then hired them to rebuild our deck. The quality of the work was exceptional and the speed with which they completed the job was unheard of….they literally tore down and rebuilt the deck in two days! The team was here early and worked late into the evening each day. And when they left, everything was spotless. I give them my highest recommendation, and will definitely use them in the future.

They handled a small job (mailbox post repair and newspaper box replacement) promptly for a fair price. The two-man crew worked diligently on a very hot afternoon as scheduled. Communication with the office was efficient and professional. I will use them again.

I found this company to be dependable and professional. They responded right away to look at my deck and give me an estimate. I had other companies scheduled for quotes but chose this one. They were prompt to show up to do the work and finished in a day. They repaired some of the decking and painted the front and backck decks. Excellent finished job.
So here is how this company went from 5 stars to one star and will end up with three stars. When I inquired on Thunbtack I got an immediate response. A few days later I was quoted at my home by the Managing Partner. His associate did measurements, and we talked about several options on the project, including when the crew would be at my house, the timing of the project and how to pay. He also mentioned one of his crew’s was doing work at a local school which I verified, and they said they were satisfied with the work they were doing. So, I went ahead and booked with this company. The day of the project the crew arrived on time as discussed. They started demolition on the front steps and the front deck area. I thought that everything was going fine and there was no need to worry. As the day went along the work continued and I was not thinking there would be any type of problem. I only spoke to the crew leader during this process who was in contact with the Managing Partner. As the day went along, I added a small project since the crew was on site and there was no need to have someone else come out. As they were getting close to the end the crew leader called the Managing Partner who I talked to. I said thus far I am satisfied, and he said if there were any issues to please let him know. And I did. And here is what happened. Because things were “rushed” in the terms that I did not believe I needed to measure the work this crew did I did say I was satisfied because at first, and quick, glance everything looked ok. Mind you this is in the afternoon, and I have been off-site but trusting this company. My first indication of issues was when my girlfriend said the steps looked “lopsided.” I was like that it is news to me. Then, the lawn care guy came and said the SAME THING, independent of my girlfriend. Then my best friend stopped by and said the SAME THING. Now, I am concerned. So, I go outside and stand several feet away to get the full view, and INDEED there are issues. So, I take out my tape measure and start looking for this “lopsided” thing I have been told about, and it didn’t take long to find issues. Between the steps being out of place and mis-matched overhang lengths, this is a liability for me (and my insurance). I called the Managing partner about it and was assured the crew would return. It was three days later before they returned. The same crew lead returned with one associate and fix the problem. It took them almost as long as the original project time to get the repairs done. He was not the best at conversation, and honestly, I felt that they were rushing through the job, and I was annoyance. All the lead would say is “good” and when I asked him about the steps lengths, he would give me the size but not anything else. Overall, the price was in line with the project, but I do question the overall knowledge, tradesmanship, people skills and may need to have an additional contractor come out to possibly address issues left behind. I would use them as a subcontractor but not as a standalone company.
