Our door services include door slab installation, complete prehung door replacement, jamb and frame repair, threshold replacement, weatherstripping, door sweep installation, hinge replacement, lock and strike plate adjustments, alignment, sealing, and waterproofing. Whether your door is difficult to close, allowing light or air inside, rubbing against the frame, damaged by moisture, or simply needs to be replaced, we will carefully evaluate the problem and recommend the best solution. Rufino Carpentry also specializes in staircase renovation and installation. We work with stair treads, risers, landings, handrails, newel posts, balusters, skirt boards, trim, staining, painting, and finishing. We can update an older staircase, repair damaged components, or completely transform its appearance while maintaining safety, proper structural support, and attention to every detail. Our flooring services include luxury vinyl plank, laminate, engineered wood, and hardwood flooring installation. Juan Rufino first came to our house to fix our front door and smart lock, he came the same day we contacted him and did an excellent job. We then hired him to upgrade our staircase balusters from plain white wood rods to decorative black iron rods. We were very pleased with the upgrade that we have wanted to do for such a long time. Juan is very responsive and a good communicator, he also has a good eye for design. Juan even helped us fix our toddler’s wood play table while he was here! We would highly recommend Juan and his team for your next carpentry job!

I needed a new front door with side lights. The home was made in the 1950s and nothing has been standard size. Juan Rufino found me a beautiful door for much less than big ox company prices and installed it perfectly. The finishing work was great. I am going to use him again for my next project.
I hired Rufino Repairs to fix my broken pantry door on January 23. When scheduling, I explained that I had already paid someone else $500 to repair it previously, and it failed. Rufino told me he could fix it for $250 and assured me he would warranty the work and that it wouldn’t break again. The owner arrived about 2½ hours late, which was frustrating. I will say the repair to the wood trim was done very well — that was honestly the best part of the job. The trim looks great and has held up nicely. Unfortunately, the door hardware has already failed again. As of February 10 — just 16 days later — I’m dealing with the same issue all over again, minus the trim repair (which is still intact). That makes the repair feel temporary rather than a lasting solution, especially considering I was told it would not break again. When I reached out regarding the warranty that was promised, he already seemed prepared not to honor it. That was extremely disappointing and felt like very poor business practice. If you offer a warranty to secure the job, it should be honored when the repair fails. I appreciate the quality of the trim work, but reliability, accountability, and standing behind your word matter most. Unfortunately, this experience fell short in that regard.
Juan worked on our staircase and did an amazing job. The handrail and overall finish look great. Very clean, detailed work and everything was done as promised. I would definitely recommend him.
