About Serendib Creative LLC
Mayanthi Jayawardena is a muralist and the founder of Serendib Creative LLC. Her large-scale public artworks transform walls into vibrant stories that celebrate culture, identity, and collective resilience. Rooted in her Sri Lankan heritage and informed by over nine years in public health and community advocacy, Mayanthi approaches mural-making as both an artistic and community-centered practice. Her murals are known for their bold color palettes, flowing organic forms, and layered symbolism inspired by nature, movement, and shared history. She has partnered with municipalities, schools, libraries, healthcare institutions, and community organizations to design site-specific murals that reflect local voices and foster belonging. Through listening sessions, workshops, and collaborative paint days, she ensures each project is shaped by the people who will live with it. Mayanthi believes murals are powerful tools for healing, storytelling, and connection—turning public spaces into welcoming landmarks that spark joy and strengthen community pride.
