Wes and his team did a great job packing and squeezing in as much stuff into the truck. They worked diligently and quickly, making sure everything was wrapped to protect the furniture.

About Shift It Moving LLC
Shift It Moving is a highly skilled and experienced company in the industry. We have over 10 years experience in the moving industry. We have been with Thumbtack for over 3 years and we are rated one of Thumbtacks best movers. The reason we qualify is because we provide 5 star service each and everytime. For you, you can expect reliable, strong, young movers that have all the knowledge and experience needed to move you. We have backgrounds in auto mechanics, warehousing, weight lifting, and of course working for other moving companies. I'm confident that our work ethic and preparation will have you blown away by our service. My approach to a military mindset of preparation and execution will shift the way you feel about moving! Truely, what I love most about moving is the actual move itself! I love to lift heavy objects and lift things that intimidate other people. The challenge is on and has brought me to this, running a moving company! My journey started 3 years ago when I decided to part ways with other companies and bring back what the moving industry is missing most, passion and work ethic. Moving is not made for everyone and you have to love to be able to push yourself physically. What makes us great is our moving team has a passion for lifting weights and pushing ourselves physically to get the job done. We enjoy working out and getting paid at the same time!

I am a huge fan of Shift-It Moving and have used them multiple times. They are highly responsive and value priced. They have even helped me with last-minute requests, whether the move has been complicated or has just involver few big items. I was especially grateful for their willingness to help me with the complex reassembly of industrial racks and office furniture.
Shift It Moving company came to the rescue when I was trying to book a moving company last minute. We had received several different quotes that were all over the place (and pushy). I didn’t feel great about them so I decided to check out Thumbtack. That’s when I found Shift It Moving. They responded immediately even though it was later in the evening. They were able to give me an honest and reasonable quote after exchanging some details. Very impressed with the quick and clear communication. They even followed up the next day via phone and were kind and got a very trustworthy vibe. Highly recommend!
Definitely one of the better moving companies I’ve ever worked with. Wesley and Tony were very polite and professional throughout the process and moved my massive custom King sized bed like champs! I would absolutely call on Shift It Moving again. I’ve already started referring people! Thanks guys!
I was messaging back and forth with Shift It Moving for a day and half. At no point did they specify that they had a 3 hour minimum until they sent me an email to confirm the appointment. Please see photo for their quote. Please be a good person and be straight forward with your policies.
Wes and Alex are amazing! They wrapped and move everything perfectly and just happened to be on the lower end of bids which was awesome! These guys are truly 5-stars and they move quickly.
Although I was determined not to give a bad review, I decided otherwise. This is a very young startup company. There is a lack of planning and maturity. The pricing is low but I do suspect it is due to a relative lack of knowledge of the business. My decision to give two stars is based on the facts uncovered after the move. The items were randomly scattered and some tools and devices are missing. The owner broke down in tears during the move and only two of The movers were actually present for the entire move as individuals randomly presented each day. The estimate was way off in spite of my insistence to have him come in and evaluate. I will never use or recommend this company ever again. I would rather pay $2,000 more rather than feel trapped. Finally, my experience was rendered worse as my wife was in the hospital for the move and there was a blame shifting to my family for not "coordinating" and "directing " the movers. The labeling was wrong and misleading but the owner felt it was our fault. I was trying not to review him but as the days have passed, my anger has grown. In my line of work, a mistake costs a life and I am not allowed to err. I do not think a moving company can reach such a standard or be expected to, but there is decency that is missing in that line of work. I was hoping that this company would change my mind but alas it has not. I ended up being forced to pay more due to his lack of foresight and he even tried to make me feel guilty for it.
As I'm out here from NYC, I needed help moving last minute and called Shift It Moving at 6pm. They took my call while on a job and as it's their process to usually have a couple days in advance, they decided to take my business. They showed up the next day, promptly on time, carefully moved all my heavy furniture and took the time to carefully wrap anything fragile with heavy moving blankets. They moved a heavy hutch, and 4 couches and countless heavy boxes, it was impressive to see how they intelligently would maneuver ways to get these impossible sectional couches up thru this narrow staircase. If it weas me, I'd either say forget or try to cut the couch in half. They did a great job. I had to leave to a meeting and trusted them to finish moving the remaining items. I then received a courtesy call asking if I'd like to have my gigantic heavy wooden bed frame assembled..I totally forgot that I had zero tools, so that offer was a God send. By them time I got home, everything was in place, bed frame assembled with the mattress on, I couldn't be more satisfied. I'm not one to leave reviews, but I had to do one for Shift It Moving. Thumbs up fellas - Steve from NYC
The movers are all very nice, and price was good. But on the second travel many furnitures were left behind and I have to move these myself. But actually the truck was less than half load on second travel. Also need improvement on estimation. It was said only need one travel, so the movers spent many time disassembled many furnitures trying to squeeze into the truck. If planned for two trips it'll save abt two hours and I don't have to assemble them by myself.
This. Was. A. Nightmare. BEYOND a nightmare, actually. The movers were late, didn't make it to the storage unit in time, and I had to TAKE OFF WORK so they could finish their job the next day. Background: I coordinated a move for a client out of town. Shift It Moving and More assured me they could take care of all packing plus moving my client's belongings into storage. YAY. They had good reviews, so I was ok turning down other offers. Moving day comes. Unfortunately, someone who'd previously stayed in my client's apartment had left food out, which attracted bugs. It was gross. Also unfortunately, the movers were almost 2 hours late, meaning I got to stay in the bug-infested apartment extra long while waiting and waiting. When the movers finally got there, I took them through the apartment and explained what needed to be packed and moved. After seeing the amount of furniture/belongings, (and even after learning the long route out to the moving truck), they said it would be quick, easy, fast. I told them they could just leave the coffee table with the gross food / bugs, that we did NOT need to touch or move it, but to please start packing everything else. I had to run to storage to get the keys. When I came back from storage (where I had to wait quite a while), the coffee table had been wrapped to move. At first, I was confused since I had said to leave it, but then was very thankful that the movers had disposed of the gross food/bugs. However, I later learned they did NOT dispose of it, or wipe it down, but they actually placed containers of month-old bug-infested food IN A BOX of my client's belongings that was already in the living room. SICK. Are you kidding? I should've demanded they leave right that second. Like honestly, I don't know what I was thinking that I trusted them to continue. I was forced to throw away my client's box of belongings. And dispose of the food containers (and the bug-infested pizza box that they'd just moved to the kitchen counter) myself. When I said something about how I was in disbelief, one of the movers claimed one of the food containers was already in the box, and that he just put the other one in there (STILL. OMG.). I told him I'd actually taken photos when I got there to send to my client, and could prove both containers of food were ON THE COFFEE TABLE, not in the box. He was quiet after that. Meanwhile, they continued "packing" the other items in the apartment. I quickly learned Shift It's definition of "packing" meant taping together a box, and literally dropping in items, not paying ANY attention to what they were dropping in. Not separating tools from sheets from volleyballs or pillows or shoes or razors or CDs or clothes, just dropping them in. Not folding clothes, just dropping them in. Not treating pillows carefully. Throwing stuff all over the place. WTF. I had to politely ask if I could please adjust some of the items before they taped the box they were currently taping shut. The movers stood there and watched as I folded clothes. I then learned the boxes that had been "packed" while I was gone had already been taped shut, even though they were only about 1/2 full. So they were using more boxes than necessary (and planning on charging me per box, of course), on top of doing a beyond embarrassingly unprofessional version of "packing." Then, when I emphasized to the movers we had to be at storage by 7pm, they told me they didn't know if we would make it. I was shocked, since not only were THEY late, but they also had stated it would be a quick move. It turned out to be more walking than anyone would've anticipated, but they still had assured me it would be quick, after seeing the walk and the whole apartment. When 5:30 rolls around, I'm like, ok guys, please just make sure the large items are packed and can get into the storage facility by 7. If I have to deal with any smaller items another day myself, I will have to figure it out, but PLEASE let's get what we can to storage. Storage was less than a half-mile from the apartment unit. I went over early to be there to let them in (the movers had told me to wait on the street so they'd see me and know where to turn. This quickly got scary, as many shady characters approached me while waiting on the street). I got back in my car, waiting, and waiting, and waiting. It's 6:40. It's 6:45. It's 6:50. NO MOVERS. I'm freaking out, having a panic attack. The storage facility works on an automated system that would shut off at 7pm. FINALLY my phone rings at 6:54pm(!), and it's one of the movers, who says, I'm sorry but we are going to need like 10-15 more minutes, ok? And I'm like, UM WE DON'T HAVE 10-15 MORE MINUTES, IF YOU'RE NOT HERE IN 6 MINUTES, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET INTO STORAGE!!!! WHICH IS THE WHOLE POINT OF YOUR JOB!!!!! I physically entered the storage garage before 7pm, HOPING that when they got there, I could maybe use my exit code so they could enter when the doors opened. At 7:15ish, I punched in my exit code, and the mover drove in when the doors opened. We tried it again and I pulled my car in, too. Then, the mover driving the U-Haul (it was a U-Haul, that they rented, NOT the company's own moving truck) -- told me to try exiting. It was a mess - I won't get into the fact the gate scratched my car. Turns out, because I'd punched my exit code past 7pm (to let in the U-Haul truck 15 minutes LATE), the elevator wouldn't even let us up anymore. If I hadn't punched my exit code past 7 to let them in / as long as they had been IN the garage by 7pm, the elevator would've kept letting us up to level 3, where the unit was located. However, the movers were not there in time. I was physically and emotionally drained at this point, and didn't know what to do. Most (not all - I'd still have to worry about ALL the rest of the stuff) my client's belongings were in the truck, and there was nowhere to put them. The mover asks, so what am I supposed to do now? And I'm like, UM, I don't know, but we wouldn't be in this situation had you made it to the apartment on time, or to storage on time like you were hired to do. I'm crying at this point. Luckily, the facility allowed me to enter my exit code again so we could at least get out of the garage. We drive back to the apartment, where the mover driving the truck had left the other mover for almost an hour, with a couch that my client no longer wanted/ I had offered to the employees. This couch was the last thing they moved out. So, perhaps if I had not offered it, maybe the movers would've been at the storage unit in time. But, I later learned even though yes, they took the couch, the mattresses were left at my client's apartment(!!!), so I'd have to hire OTHER movers if they didn't finish themselves. The second mover said he was taking a bus home. The mover driving the U-Haul truck stays, saying, we are stuck with each other now. (oy.) I try reaching Wesley, the owner. No answer. He had told me his phone was really messed up. So I didn't know how to reach him at all. The mover asks me if I can go buy him some water and diet pepsi and that he's starving, so I walk to CVS and buy him soda and water plus a snack. He doesn't offer to pay me back or anything. Whatever. Finally, Wesley calls the mover back, and calls U-Haul to get permission to keep the truck overnight. We agree I'd take off work (COOL) and meet them the next morning. Wesley apologized, that he'd be unable to come since he had another job. I was pretty upset and in disbelief, but had no energy to fight it, though he must've heard it in my voice. A couple hours later, Wesley calls back to tell me he re-arranged some things and would in fact be there the next morning. I was very thankful. Until... yesterday morning, when I learned he was not exactly an expert mover, either. They called to tell me they would be late, again, so I waited to leave to meet them. During this time, my work called me, and I had to do some work. So, in the end, I was almost 20 minutes late, because I had to do work, since because of the movers I had to take off work in the first place. Annnnyway. We finally got everything into storage by 1:30 PM. 1:30 PM. I had left at one point to get them water and soda. No one offered to pay me back, like the previous night. When we begin to talk finances, Wesley tries to tell me packing paper is $10, plus boxes (some of which were STILL only half full), plus the full moving rate, for the number of hours the mover claimed. (The mover claimed he had worked until 10pm the previous night, which was IMPOSSIBLE, since storage closed at 7 and there was no possible way they could've done ANYTHING after that. ) I now look back at my messages with Wesley. Who claimed "Michelle, We provide packing service. Are [sic] packing service is included within the hourly rate with additional charge. The packing supplies are free (only when we provide packing service). And, boxes are priced accordingly ($1.50 Med/$2 Lrg/$10 Wardrobe). If you wish for us to just provide packing supplies with no packing service, our supplies are priced accordingly ($12 Packing paper/ $1 per foot Bubble wrap)." So, why is he charging me $10 for packing paper (which they mayyyyybe used two sheets of, since they could've cared less about the safety of my client's items), if packing paper was free with packing service?? (Or do they realize actual professional "packing service" was never even provided...) Bubble wrap wasn't even brought/provided, so, they couldn't charge me for that. (PS, Wesley, the owner, actually dropped a glass vase while at the storage unit. Miraculously, it didn't break.) Also, I left my little card from the storage unit with my access code on it with Wesley, when I went to go buy them drinks, and Wesley lost it / never gave it back to me. Luckily I had a photo of it on my phone. Like, WTF. Wish I had more photos on my phone. When I went back to the apartment after all this, the movers had left trash (
