About Simi Klein
I'm a New York-based test prep and admissions specialist with 16+ years of experience and over 3,000 students coached. I tutor across the full range of standardized tests, SSAT, ISEE, SAT, ACT, GMAT, and GRE, and also coach families through K–12, college, and MBA admissions. I scored a perfect 1600 on the SAT and a 790 on the GMAT (99th percentile), graduated from NYU Summa Cum Laude with a double major in Economics and English, and earned my MBA from Columbia Business School. My students regularly hit 1400+ on the SAT, 32+ on the ACT, 700+ on the GMAT, 325+ on the GRE, and top percentiles on the SSAT and ISEE. 95% are admitted to at least one of their top-choice schools, including Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, MIT, UChicago, NYU, and UCLA. I also serve as an alumni interviewer for Columbia Business School admissions, which gives me a current, first-hand perspective on what selective adcoms are actually looking for. My approach is built on pattern recognition, test strategy, and disciplined execution, not endless practice tests or generic admissions formulas. I work best with students who are coachable, motivated, and ready to put in real work. Reach out if you'd like to chat about how I can help you achieve your goals.

Wow!! I cant express enough just how satisfied I am with the "College Admissions Counseling" service provided by Simi!. I can't believe I found this high quality of service on Thumbtack! He was fast, he was exacting, he was knowledgeable, poignant and just overall Professional.. 5-out-of-5 -Will use again! I found him here on Thumbtack ya'll, and just had to come right back here to express my Extreme satisfaction with his performance in case any of you were looking for the A-Team in College Admissions Counseling. 💯
After having introductory calls with over 10 GMAT tutors and MBA consultants, Simi stood out as the best choice by far. Not only does he have a deep understanding of the GMAT Focus curriculum, but he also has a unique ability to break down complex strategies into simple, digestible concepts that you won’t get from self-studying. Beyond his impressive qualifications, I was able to connect with Simi on a personal level—he’s incredibly easy to talk to and genuinely supportive throughout the process. I 100% recommend Simi!!!!
Simi is easy to work with and has been able to help us with a variety of tasks and subjects. We have a sophomore and senior in HS. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
