I highly recommend SOS Roofing! Their prices were great (I got several other estimates). The staff was always responsive and caring. Their work was of the highest quality. They did the roof in one day in Binghamton. (They came one day later than planned because they needed to finish another job but that was well communicated.) The guys that did the work were VERY conscientious. Going above and beyond on any places that needed special attention. I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks, guys!

Reviews
I can't really give a review as I didn't get an estimate after the visit.
Large roof done in a day and a half.clean up and protection of property was very exceptional. Would recommend to anyone.
Just an excellent experience. Communication was great, they were there when they said they would be and did a great job of cleaning up. Would highly recommend them.!!
Prior to signing my contract with SOS Roofing, I requested a list of references which they provided. I randomly selected 5 names on the list and was able to speak with all 5 people. They all recommended SOS Roofing, and each gave me a description of work they had done. I recently had a full tear off roof and downspout replaced by SOS Roofing. I worked with Sarah to schedule the roof replacement. On March 12, 2024, the roofing crew arrived and was able to complete the roof in 1 day. They did a great job of cleaning up any old materials, nails, etc. I have gotten compliments on how great the roof looks. My downspout was an odd configuration, so Dave (owner) and Chris came and replaced my downspout. It looks great. I would recommend SOS Roofing and have asked to be added to their Reference list.
Every one from Sarah in the Office to Ed who came and gave me the estimate to the workers who got it done in not very pleasant weather. All in all it was a great experience! Thank you everyone at SOS Roofing! Here is Before and After!
Great group of guys that explained the work and the repair better than the previous 3 crews I’d had out for estimates.
I called and texted too many times to get a quote and I spent a week but I didn’t receive any quote.
Tile and laminate floors were installed great work responded quickly.
Dave, Ed and all of the guys were great. When they left at the end of the day- you couldn’t tell that they had been here. Not a nail was left- or a plant touched! Very happy with the roof!! And the respect for the property. Highly recommend!
Showed up , checked out job and really did excellent excellent work. Very pleased. Would hire again.
Very professional and helpful throughout the process. I would definitely recommend this company.
This company promptly responded to my literal SOS for a leaking roof. The company was able to fit me in to their schedule within a few days. The technician examined the problem then presented me with my solution choices. Contractors are very busy and difficult to schedule right now, but in a roofing emergency, would recommend contacting this company.
This contractor ghosted me. Ghosting (cutting off all communication without warning or justification and ignoring all attempts to be contacted) is typically used to describe a specific behavior of immature teenagers on social media, but it also accurately describes the way I was treated by SOS Contracting Inc over the last month. I rarely post reviews, good or bad, unless an experience was exceptional. I prefer to vote with my dollars and let the free market sort it out, but SOS was exceptional in the wrong direction. Future customers should be careful with them. My main complaint is that David, the owner, told me that he would personally look at an issue I had with a sloppy cut that one of his workers did and a section of shake that is missing. I told him I noticed it after the worker left, after my workday was done. David accepted this. I told him I would send the final payment (a $2,275 job) that day, which I did (stupidly, in retrospect) in good faith. He still said he would check out my issue. He did not say that he would vanish after getting my money. There was never any contention between us, so I assumed he was also working in good faith. That was May 20, the last time I ever heard from him. He never showed up. He never responded to multiple phone calls, voicemails, and texts over the last five weeks. I had to email his estimator (Ed) -- like a parent calling another parent about a problem child -- to look for a charitable explanation for this sort of behavior. I even asked if David had changed his phone number. I kept giving him chances. Ed responded quickly, said he would forward the message, but still no word from David. It's the end of June and I’m still in the dark. This was all very odd because David was super nice and frequently checked in on things before the final payment was sent. I’ll still give this guy about a 2% chance (because I’m dumb enough) that he has an innocent explanation -- and there may be -- but there is no excuse for ignoring this many phone calls. I won’t claim to know what David’s motivations are for operating this way. But, in ten years of hiring contractors as a homeowner, I’ve never had anyone drop off the planet and fail to keep their word so expediently after receiving the final payment. Sure, it's legal, but it's not ethical, and contractors are usually motivated to maintain a level of integrity and to earn repeat business. I’m sure every contractor has a “ABC holds no liabilities after final payment is received” clause. It's a reasonable thing to have in your contract. Bad customers may make ridiculous demands. It’s meant to guard a business from nonsense. No contractor would ever use it as an excuse to break their word and treat customers poorly, would they? Customers don’t care about a little technicality in a contract. If a business owner tells you that they will do something, that is paramount to the customer. Customers want to know that your word means something, that a handshake agreement would be just as valid. Maybe I’m living in a world that doesn’t exist anymore. Maybe I’ve been so unfortunate as to always find scrupulous contractors who don’t act like lawyers and it left me naive as a result. Some other points: 1. A large section of a zero-maintenance LeafGuard gutter was replaced with an inferior frequent-maintenance mesh product, and doing so voided my LeafGuard warranty. The LeafGuard came with the house when I moved in, so I was not intimately familiar with their warranty. The estimate literally said “Install new ...gutter with leaf guard.” My fault for not catching this until after the fact (leaf guard, not LeafGuard), but they should really be aware of this if they are in the gutter business. 2. My name and street were misspelled on the contract. Is that a deal breaker? No, but quality is fractal. 3. I had to call to remind them to send me the estimate. I also had to call them to tell me when I would be scheduled. Not dealbreakers. Contractors require a bit of management from the customer. Annoying, but par for the course. 4. Ed and the fellow who did the actual siding work were pleasant to work with, and acted like professionals. David was pleasant to talk to also, until he decided to ghost me. Lessons learned: I would not recommend SOS to anyone I know, based solely on the owner’s behavior. But go ahead if you want to. The workmanship was OK (except the one section I wanted fixed up), about what you would expect from any other contractor. I’m still left with a sloppy job near the entrance to my house after the owner failed to show up like he said he would, and failed to return any calls, out of nowhere like I had offended him somehow. If you find yourself having to work with SOS, get everything in writing. Triple check everything. Triple check the long list of everything they are not responsible for on the estimate. Don’t pay them a cent over 50% until you are satisfied. If you are told that someone will be there to pick up a nail left in your driveway, get it in writing. Draw up a new contract to have the nail picked up. They may claim that they don’t know me, or that the conversation never happened, or that I’m not a real customer, or a competitor, but I can provide photos of the sloppy job and screen shots of unreturned calls.
We had some miscommunications in the begging but worked it out.
David did a great job with the roof gave me a fair and honest price would recommend him if you need a metal roof installed.
Great company! Responses right away to my request, came by and fixed issue on the spot. Will definitely use again and recommend! Thanks again!
The owner, Dave, was very pleasant and knowledgeable, checked out my roof and explained all the options and materials available. There was no pressure. We discussed them, I made my decisions and his team installed my roof and new skylight. They did a great job and cleaned up like they were never here. All around great experience. Will definitely be calling them again for any work I need or want done!
I highly recommend SOS Roofing & General Contracting. They’re professional, courteous, and did an amazing job!
David and his team are exceptional. Roof took only 18 hours despite 50mph winds. He walked me through the insurance process with a fair estimate and timely repair. Thumbs up!
