This team worked their tails off. They made quick work of a BIG job: tearing out my garage floor and replacing it, plus creating a lip outside the garage, and placing a long drain to prevent standing water in the garage or around it. Did the whole job in 6 days. Even with a couple surprises, the job didn’t go more than 5% over budget. Photos are not of final finished product, but of the process.

Jose and his team did a great job on our driveway install. They removed our blacktop and installed a concrete one. The process took one week and Jose was professional and responsive to every question and every detail. We were incredibly pleased with the results. We did notice that a city water cap in our approach at the end of the driveway was covered by the concrete and Jose came out immediately to remedy it. I would hire them again and will be recommending them to my friends and neighbors.

They did an outstanding job on our stairs and patio. The project was particularly challenging—the back door led to a two-foot drop, and they had to thoughtfully design around the existing structure. Jose and his team were professional every step of the way, from the initial site evaluation to a clear proposal, defined scope, and consistent timeline. They kept us updated with photos throughout and were transparent with pricing and communication. I’d highly recommend them and would absolutely work with them again.

Got concrete patio installed couple of years ago, reasonable price and they are very flexible, but already cracking/chipped (see photos). I expected fiber concrete to be better as they have mentioned.

Workers urinating on my garage with my son and wife in the house. Was told not to worry about it they are sorry. Neighbors car, my siding, and pavers were damaged by wet cement overspray and was told they would clean up but never did. The work they did was fine but terrible overall experience and would not recommend this to friends or family.

Our driveway apron and curb gutter was sunk so bad that our cars would scrape along the bottom. After getting some quotes initially we started to lose hope and get frustrated. Then we called these guys. Carlos came out in a matter of hours. Looked at it, gave me a very fair price. 2 days later they started, and finished—-in 1 day. Normally this would be something that worries me but the quality and attention to detail was amazing. Everybody I talked to from this company was very professional and straightforward. I will be using them for everything possible going forward. Thank you Special Concrete for everything and if youre reading this review, please give them a ring

EDIT: I’ve went ahead and added a handful of photos + added additional comments. I cannot in good faith recommend Special Concrete to adequately complete a job. Photos are in order of the comments. EDIT: The photos don’t upload correctly to correspond with the numbers. 1. They did not call 811 to insure there were no wires under our concrete patio. If they had, they would have been alerted to these wires and followed the law of not using heavy equipment within the legal limit of the wires. The wires connected to an outdoor outlet that no longer works as well as the garage door. After adamantly stating this was the companies fault, Carlos agreed to the $200 to get the garage connected again. The electrical outlet is still unusable. 2. We had a French drain that needed to be moved over a few inches to allow room for the form. The PVC was not cracked until today, August 17, and we were not told the men had cracked it. Instead, we found out ourselves reviewing the work thus far. This should not have been broken, and at the very least, we should have been told about the damage. EDIT: they fixed the French drain, but I stand by believing we should have been told it was broken. 3 & 4. Heavy coating & glob of concrete left to harden in/on a concrete driveway. There’s no reason a persons home should be left in such disarray. Hopefully, the concrete will not cure and create another expense. EDIT: they pressure washed the concrete we sent photos of, but there are still spots other places. I’m not sure why they didn’t get everything. 5 - 8. One of our mature trees was unacceptably and unnecessarily left defaced without it’s bark in an incredibly noticeable spot. Again, we were not notified of this mistake. Instead, we had to notify Carlos, and he is trying to pass the blame onto a company he states they have a partnership with. If you’re going to have a partnership with someone, don’t throw them under the bus, and don’t leave your customers to reconcile an issue your companies partners created. EDIT: We’re working with Ernst Concrete to find a solution on this. While speaking with Ernst Concrete, I actually found out they do not have a partnership of any kind with Special Concrete like Special Concrete states in paperwork. 9. Drain sloppily left uncovered and filled with concrete bits. Carlos states they will take care of this problem, but we can only hope the draining pipe is not filled with concrete now. 10. They used our dogs outdoor water bowl to do something with the concrete. If it were the only thing, no big deal, but the issues are too mounting. EDIT: Luckily, the drain did have another strainer underneath the cover, so this wasn’t too big of a deal. This is my fault for not checking. 11 & 12. Lastly, the concrete was poured today. Carlos stated the ground would be graded. If the grading were done correctly, I’m unsure of why there are standing puddles within the first 24 hours of the slab being laid. This rain was not a terrestrial downpour. EDIT: I’m still unsure if it’s graded properly or not. There seem to be some low spots. Then, not necessarily the biggest, but an issue nonetheless, can be referenced from photo 7. As stated in the signed document in photo 7 given to us by Carlos, the work is to be completed 2-3 weeks from the start date of the project. Tomorrow will be day 22, and our project is not complete. Please take your needs for concrete elsewhere. We wish we had.

First, I'd like to say the quality of their work is excellent. They're all very skilled in this particular line of work. Secondly, when they dug up my previous sidewalk that's connected to the side of my house, my basement flooded. I informed the supervisor about my concern and they put my concern at the forefront. I had to beg a little bit, but eventually he adapted to his customer who was unrightly suffering because of the removal of the old sidewalk.. They expidited the project to fix the leak and everything turned out great.. I suggest to anyone who is thinking about replacing their current sidewalk connecting to their property, make sure they will be finishing the day of them removing the old concrete, or make sure there isn't any rainfall to be expected until they finish. Other than that, the final draft speaks for itself. Thanks again, great work.
