About STUDIO KRAUSS

Hi, I'm Sophie, founder and creative director of STUDIO KRAUSS, an interior design and interior architecture studio serving NYC, New Jersey, Long Island, and Connecticut. I work across the full scope of a home: space planning and custom built-ins, material and finish selection, and complete furniture curation for every room. My training as both an architect and interior designer means I can take a project from structural and spatial decisions through to the last piece of furniture, all under one point of contact and one cohesive vision. I hold a Bachelor's in Architecture from Germany and a Master's in Architecture from The Cooper Union, and I've worked on high-end residential design across Europe, Asia, and the U.S. That background shapes how I work: precise, spatially considered, and grounded in how you actually live. I take on full-home and multi-room projects, from architectural detailing like custom millwork and built-ins to full furniture and material selection for an entire space. You'll get a clear, organized process from concept through final installation, with steady communication throughout. Let's talk about your project.

Reviews

“Sophie helped us renovate and fully furnish our apartment in Jersey City, and we had such a great experience working with her. We had never worked with a designer before, so we werent really sure what to expect, but Sophie made the whole process feel easy, organized, and enjoyable from start to finish.Studio Krauss is extremely thoughtful and detail-oriented, and we always felt guided and supported throughout the project. We absolutely love how our home turned out and couldnt be happier with the final result. We highly recommend Studio Krauss!”
