Emma was great. Very punctual and was good at sending me prompts when she had upcoming availability so it was easy to make the lessons work around both our busy schedules. All in all, she got my kiddo swimming super quick. She was attentive without being overly playful so as not to get him too riled up. Which he’s good enough at doing on his own, being 6. She was very patient with him during his streaks of stubbornness and this was much appreciated. I went this route because it wad important to get him swimming as soon as possible since I had just purchased a home with a pool in the back yard. I believe we accomplished this in 6 or 7 lessons. I think it would’ve been sooner but my child can be a bit stubborn as previously mentioned. It took a few weeks of “sure you can get a (X gift) you just have to swim across the pool in the deep end with no help or goggles…” We went back and forth with this from about the 5th to after the 6th or 7th lesson by a couple weeks when one day he’s like “ok let’s go RIGHT NOW!” And the rest is history. Very grateful to Emma for her gentle guidance in giving my son such an important skill that builds a strong foundation for lifelong safety and comfort. Highly recommend.

Hi! I’m Emma — a former Division I swimmer who competed at both UC Berkeley and UT Austin, and I’ve been teaching private swim lessons for over five years. I’m also a registered nurse working in pediatric care, which has given me an even deeper understanding of how kids build trust, confidence, and new skills. My teaching style is centered around empowering kids to feel confident, capable, and safe in the water. I focus on building trust and self-belief so they feel comfortable trying new skills and making progress! I work with all ages and levels — whether you’re looking for your child to become comfortable in the water, learn to swim for the first time, or improve their technique, I’ll meet them where they are and help them build from there! I’m CPR and lifeguard certified.

Emma has been working with my 3 and 5 year old boys and has been just wonderful! She is patient and so sweet with them. She is always very punctual. She got both of them independently swimming during their first lesson with her. We are so lucky that we found her.
