We hired Tarver Images to livestream our wedding under very specific and time-sensitive circumstances, and unfortunately, it turned into the most disappointing vendor experience we’ve ever had. Due to an unexpected family emergency, some of our loved ones could no longer attend in person, so livestreaming became incredibly important to us. Tarver initially seemed like a great choice—he was responsive, confident, and assured us he had a solid plan, including renting equipment and visiting the venue ahead of time to test everything, so we decided to go with him over the other inquiries. We promptly paid our deposit and connected him with our wedding planner. Throughout the week leading up to the wedding, we followed up to ensure everything was on track and that there was a contingency plan in place. Despite repeated reassurances, he never completed the promised venue visit and began offering excuses. Things escalated the day before the wedding. Around 1pm, when we called to check in, he became extremely unprofessional and began berating us over the phone—completely unexpected and inappropriate behavior, especially given the situation. He then suggested we cancel, which we could not do so close to the wedding. He ended the call requesting no further communication and that he would show up the next day. Then, at 8:36 PM that same evening—during our welcome party—we received a message from him stating that his equipment had not arrived and that he would be canceling and returning our deposit. Our wedding planner and vendor team were shocked by this behavior, as this was the night before our wedding, leaving us in an incredibly difficult position at the worst possible time. Thankfully, our guests and vendor team rallied around us, and we were able to secure a last-minute replacement. We hired the M.I.C Studios Experience that night, and they gave us an exceptional product the following day. That support made a stressful situation manageable—but it does not excuse the experience we had here. UPDATE: Tarver, your response contains several inaccuracies that only reinforce our original concerns and demonstrates your attitude towards clients. We worked with over 20 vendors for our wedding, and none of them displayed such abhorrent behavior. We take pride in treating people with respect, and we rarely leave negative reviews—this is an exception, and that alone should speak volumes. Being challenged on your deliverables does not equate to hostility, and if you had a solid backup plan, you would not have been that easily flustered, nor would you have cancelled the night before the wedding. To be clear, we only called you twice on Friday to confirm that you would be present to test the gear, like you said you would do all week. When you decided to raise your voice and become unruly during the phone conversation (which you now deny), we remained calm in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. Additionally, your comments about compensation are misleading. We agreed on a fee ($900/4hrs) with minimal negotiation, and you accepted those terms willingly. If you felt the compensation was insufficient, or that you were not equipped to complete the job, you should not have taken it in the first place. We received offers from other professionals, but only chose to move forward with you based on your assurances. Clearly, cost was not the issue here. This review was not written lightly. It reflects a genuine experience and a responsibility to inform others, so they are not led astray. Hiring a vendor is about trust, preparation, and reliability, and we feel that you let us down in these regards. We had a grand wedding celebration supported by an incredible team of professionals. Unfortunately, your service did not meet that standard. We have moved on and we sincerely hope you take this as an opportunity to reflect and improve your communication, professionalism, and reliability for future clients.
