To Myles, I’m writing about the cable installation at our property and the $1,700 you charged ($1,000 for materials and $700 for labor). Materials: Before starting, you quoted $100 for the cable. After the job was partly done, you changed that to $100 per pull and charged $1,000 for materials. The cable you brought was a partially used 500' spool of VIVO Cat6 outdoor direct-burial cable (P/N CABLE-V012), which retails for about $50. Along with about 20 RJ45 punch-down connectors and 5 faceplates, total materials come to roughly $100, which matches your original quote. Charging $1,000 for these materials is not justified. Labor: I paid $100/hour for 7 hours. That time included a 30-minute break and about 30+ minutes spent fixing a fully installed Comcast line that you cut by mistake, including going to your car for parts. I should not be paying for your break or for repairing damage you caused. Incomplete work: You knew we were moving in and needed the job finished. You pulled only 5 of the planned runs and said you would return next Wed for the rest. You also did not mount the phone system, switch, and modem, which I texted you about before you started. You left saying you were tired and hadn’t had lunch, even though you did take a break and I was with you the entire time. I had to drag you to mount those items. Still I can't connect to the outlet since you didn't mount it either. Conduct: When I questioned the price change, you threatened to tear out the cable if I didn’t pay the full $1,700 right away. That is not an acceptable way to treat a customer. I do not want you to return to finish the job. I have hired another installer to complete the work today. I am requesting a refund of $900 for the materials overcharge. If I do not receive it today, I will file a formal complaint with Thumbtack. Andrew 10/14/2026

This guy rocks. Super respectful and conscientious. Personable and relatable to boot. He answered all of my questions, fixed all the issues I called him for, and set me on the right path for the future. I had been suffering from poor networking in my house for years.
