This contractor, at first, made me think he was going to offer better service than the local big company that I had gotten a quote from prior to Dean coming to my property to do the work. I had a damaged wire in my basement that needed remedied. Dean quoted $250, which I said was more than I was quoted by a local big electric company as mentioned, and he asked the work that would be done. I asked for a veterans discount which he gave at $200. The other company would have replaced the larger electrical box which I’ve shown in the picture, which would have remedied the damaged wire. Dean made fun of that repair in such a manner that made me believe that it would have been an unnecessary repair. After Dean was finished with the work, I wanted to see what he had done and he was a little apprehensive as to show me. The work he did was to add another smaller electrical box diagonal to the bigger box the other company would have replaced. I think it made the repair look cheap and if I knew more about electrical work, I would have gone with the bigger company and not this contractor. Funny thing is Dean, the Panel Guy, went on to explain how people will take advantage of women that don’t know about builds/electrical etc, anything and everything to do with home repairs. Which in hind-site was exactly what he did to me. I am a first time homebuyer figuring things out as I go. I’ve attached a picture of the larger box (on right) that was quoted by the other company to replace and of the smaller box (on left) that Dean replaced. I would not hire this contractor and it actually makes me not want to hire any contractors in the future from Thumbtack.
Dean and his partner were professional from the start. Did the job. Cleaned up and the price was reasonable. I would recommend The Panel Guys.

Dean contacted me the morning of service, and again before the scheduled appointment. Arrived a few minutes early, got to work immediately and soon found the problem and repaired it. Very thorough and explained everything. Friendly and very reasonable rates. I am keeping his number in my phone in the event we need an electrician again in the future.
Quick easy process via text and app, came out when promised and completed the work thoroughly and quickly.
