Despite never hearing from me, they’ve been calling and messaging me relentlessly. I requested they stop. They continued. Avoid.
The technician who serviced my home was kind, professional, and resolved my issue in under an hour. However, my experience with the company's management left a lot to be desired. They canceled my original appointment at the exact time they were scheduled to arrive and had to reschedule me. While they did waive their standard dispatch fee to make up for the scheduling error, they failed to mention their steep pricing structure over the phone. I only learned that basic troubleshooting was a flat $400 fee when the technician was already standing at my front door. Being put on the spot for a $400 fee which ultimately went toward simply diagnosing and replacing a faulty light switch felt unreasonable. I appreciate the technician's work, but the lack of pricing disclosure prior to dispatch and the high cost will likely keep me from returning.

I had to complete some grounding and GFCI work at two rental properties for a City inspection. I posted on Thumbtack and this company was one of the first to respond. They came out and quoted me like $4500 for four hours worth of work! I already had all of the materials!! After several phone calls back and forth between the tech, myself and HQ, they came all the way down to $1900. That's still almost $500 per hour. I went to another Thumbtack electrician who came out and did all the work...for $185, so less than 10% of Edison's "deeply discounted" rate and about 3% of their original "quote". So I would tread very, very carefully when dealing with this company. It seems 90% of what you're paying for are their fancy fleet of vans, high end tablets, super cheerful and prompt office managers, and probably the owner's yacht on the Chesapeake. If you want a fair deal at a reasonable price, look elsewhere - this is a RIPOFF operation.
First of all it was very expensive. It was only a bathroom fan and it cost almost $800. Also the fan we bought didn’t work so we bought a new motor for it and that didn’t work either. We ended up getting a new fan and we were going to install it but the motor for the new fan fit. We asked the guy if we couldn’t finish what we could do. He said to call him and he would come back. We did end up calling him but he wouldn’t come back. Overall some of the issues were our fault but we ended up paying the price for that. Next time we’ll just go on YouTube and do it ourselves.

Steve was excellent. Showed up on time and was able to diagnose the problem and give us an estimate right away. He had all parts and was able to fix both our outside outlets that stopped working. We would definitely call Thomas Edison again when we need any electrical work.

I was initially upset with these guys over what I believe now to be an isolated, rare scheduling issue. They took my initial complaint to heart and did everything they could to make me happy. The electrician showed up on time. Good quality work. He fixed an issue with my inlets that several other electricians could not fix. At this time, I can honestly say I would hire them again.
The company reached out to me after the initial miscommunication in pricing and made a genuine effort to ensure I was satisfied with both the service and the costs. Errors are human and I appreciate the added effort and communication they put in to ensure my satisfaction.
Very reasonable price and quality work. One of the few contractors that would quote a price over the phone for a simple charger swap with no dispatch charge. It’s nice to work with an honest, upfront contractor.

Found Thomas Edison in Thumbtack and was not familiar with them, but took a chance. They were by far the most professional, courteous, and knowledgeable pro we’ve ever hired (and we’ve been homeowners for 30+ years!). We’ve found our ‘forever electrician’ and will definitely use them again. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

Great service provided by Mike and Reese. They arrived in time, diagnosed issue and informed me of price to repair. Issue was rectified in a timely manner without any hiccups. Will definitely use in the future if the need arises.
I was glad they were able to come the next day. They let me know when the tech, Eddy was coming (they also sent his picture and gave a background) and when to expect him. Eddy, the tech, did put on booties before coming into the house. He also went through the house to see where the power went out. And he explained how it works, regarding the cost of the service call, what it costs for the diagnostic testing as well as if something needed to be replaced the added cost I.e. replacing the circuit breaker, etc. It didn't take long for him to fix it and check the outlets and switches to make sure they were active.
